Tip for VR: this little mod improves performance and visual experience!

I was getting sick of how everything looked in VR. And i constantly changed my ingame gamma setting. I notice viuals were better in external view, but from within the cockpit; shadows were shimmering. there were odd looking reflections in the canopy. And colors were white faded looking outside.

This mod alters the opacity of the canopy.

This improved the visuals dramatically, no more shimmering shadows, and no more microstutters!!

I'm very happy with the result!!

Does this make the glass look like it is not there? (in other words, the glass has been removed and you are open air.)?

No it reduces opacity, to 20% of the original value; the glass is still “visible”.

backup your original file before installing, if you don’t like it, you can restore the original file.

What seems strange to me is the reduction of microstutters mentioned above. The mod itself multiply by a 0.2 factor the global processing results for the glass. So all computing remains the same....You  should hace improved visibility without any doubt, but not any benefit for processing...

Well, it is an impression, but i feel it runs much smoother, and i couldn't notice any microstutters, which before i could. SO it's not a result of empirical testing, but my subjective experience.

I wonder what other experience with it.
It's easy to install and revert, should it not suit.

i didn't test it, but it's just 1 file; backup the original. If it doesn't pass, you can restore the original file.

No, it's stated in the description

"NOTES:
This mod may also affect MFD and HUD glass if the module uses same material.
Does not pass IC as of DCS 2.8.5 on 5/18/23"
