Hello Guys,

Is there a server where the F1 is on par with other aircrafts ?

I tried ECW but the F1 has no Fox 1 on caucasus and im too bad in ACM with cold war planes where i can't even see bandits during merges and always getting splashed on my 6 by gun kills with planes from WWII like the sabre which is humilating .

I play mostly on Tempest BF server with the Mirage 2000 and SU_27 and i'm able to have fun as i din't get destroyed that often and even do quite some kills but the F1 EE have no change against the F18, F15C and F16 and it has no IFF so even if you have the S530F, you still need to go to ACM to visually identify the target.

So is there a PvP server where the mirage F1 doesnt suck ?

I only fly ECW. Keep practising on there and you will get better.

You can climb away from the older planes that have no after burner. I use the F-1 as a strike fighter with the parachute bombs which are great for one pass haul ass. If you get intercepted turn into them and a single radar 530  under centre gives you a head on shot and just blow through and run for home. Avoiding long dogfights with nimble MiG21 can still be a lot of fun. Even the MiG struggles to catch you flat out on the deck.

I think DRF puts out some good advice, even though the F1 has gotten a good deal better in relation to the -21 with the last two patches. Things you have over the -21: A lot more internal fuel and a lot (almost a ton!) more dry thrust.

What struck me, watching the video, is that you're making the common mistake of trying to pull the Sabre into your sight. Won't happen. Ever.

You'll need to watch your AOA (try to keep it in the green, unless you can to kill the other guy within two-three seconds) and try to never go below 400IAS without a darn good reason. She'll rate quite well at 500-550 (or M.85). Keep the g low and try to let lag pursuit (barrel- and lag-displacement rolls) work for you, until you're in a position where you can kill him.

The F1 is a hard aircraft to be good in.

I have only been on ECW for a few weeks and it's the first time I've logged DCS time in a couple years.  Absolutely loving it. I would suggest the following as an old guy with old eyes.  Wear cheaters of some type.  It really helps me.  Second, have a button set up to zoom in slowly and the other to snap back to normal view.  The first few days online I was able to spot AC usually flying low at high speed but if I got into a dogfight and lost sight I could not ID quick enough and had a couple of Blue on Blue errors.  The zoom really helped stop that. The rear aspect only missile setup is actually a good thing for you.  Don't go in thinking you are going to scissor with everyone.  Set up ambush attacks and work on striking then getting out alive.

I do understand your frustration, the Mirage F1 is very challenging to master. For me I enjoy a variety of planes so I do end up retraining in order to get good again. For me, it’s practice. I fly against the AI to master techniques on the particular plane that I want to learn. Flying against planes and ground targets. For Cold War, nothing beats Enigma and yes you will have more bad days then good ones. Everyone gave great advice in this thread and like I said the Mirage, while sexy, is tough to learn. My squad puts up a Cold War server as well, that is pretty easy, if you just want to cut your teeth. It’s a Wolfpack server. So just search wolf then space pack, you should see one marked Cold War. I use that one some times just to practice, since it stays light. Staying fast in key in the Mirage, then learn to react fast when the chance comes and keep moving. To me there is no F-16 type CW bird, they all have their quarks, but that’s what makes them special. 😎

Nothing beats 1v1 PvP. It's the foundation for every pilots training. SACT first then DACT.    Find a training partner and fly  extensive 1v1's . Over and over again. Skip AI. Guns only, ir''s and then 530 if you wish. Exploit the  whole speed and alt  encelope.

Thanks for your inputs

The problem in 2 circles is that if i don't pull hard, the ennemy will rapidly get a FoX 2 solution on me or even canon solution.

I can't fly on ECW wth 40+ server since their V2 as my FPS is < 15 FPS with a 10600K and 1080Ti with MT enabled

Do you remember that you have all-aspect IR AAMs?
