Hey there,

I wonder if there's something that could be done for this "issue" that seem to affect all VR users as far as I know.

The PNVS through the monocle is extremely shaky as it tracks the users head micro-movements making it uncomfortable when used.

I know couple VR games such as Onward which smoothen PiP while DCS VR seems to track "raw" inputs from your head.

I haven't got the chance to wear an actual IHADSS yet, but I doubt it's that shaky in real life and I believe the PNVS display of the actual aircraft does ignore the users uncontrolled micro head movements.

Any thoughts about it ?

You need OpenXR toolkit... then enable the shaking reduction. Not a good combo when using motion smoothing though.

Will definitely try it ! It would be great if it was native to DCS. I just switched to OpenXR. Thank you !

It appears I don't have this feature on the OpenXR version I run, which is the latest.

was reading through the changelog, seems the name has been changed to "over-prediction."

Right, so that's the option, I'll try it out to see if it works. Thanks Sr. 😉

So I tested, and I seem to have better performances for some reason and the PNVS feel a bit more stable but it could be even more stable if ED would implement some stabilization on the display for VR users, natively.

My first experience with it was shortly after the AH-64 came out. In VR I use the cross icon as my mouse pointer with HOTAS mapped for right/left click. Prior to (then) Shake Reduction in OXRToolkit, it was difficult for me to accurately enter waypoint info on the keypad since my head was driving the cursor. Also made aiming the cannon much more stable.

I no longer use motion smoothing of any kind, but I do recall it played hell with MS.

Just a little update, which is off topic but I thought it may be worth sharing.

I switched on the Experimental Mode of the latest OpenXR version and I got even better performance.

My VR experience haven't been this smooth ever before, it is super comfortable and enjoyable.

Thank you for the tips @Sr.
