Shouldn't the brightness rocker adjust the brightness of the MFD for the whole MFD, regardless of which page is open?

Currently, it only adjusts it per page/format. So I can turn down the brightness of the FCR page, but if I open for example the HSD, the brightness is back to the default. And if I adjust the brightness of a second page, the third one takes over the brightness of the previous one, except when I open a different page, then it's a different brightness again?

yes Brightness and contrast setting are associated to the pages and to the master modes. So you can configure at best your screen for a night mission (ex. having very dim pages in A/G when you use NVG and bright pages in NAV when you turn off your goggle)

Hey @razo+r

As much as this can be a bit annoying, like @falconzxsaid, it is working as intended. You do need to adjust brightness per page.

Then it still does not work as intended.

Some pages influence the brightness of other pages (TEST page affects brightness of DTE page and vice versa, BLANK affect SMS, FLCS dimms SMS and TEST for example)

That's because it's a bit more complex than just "per page" and I need to elaborate.

The MFDs allow independent selection of brightness, contrast and gain for each video format, but ONE selection of those for all text-only formats. So yes, if you choose a setting for a text-only formatted page, it will save for all pages of the same format.

I know, it's a bit confusing as it is somehow annoying, but the idea is to allow one setting for all text based pages (SMS, DTE, TEST, etc) but individual ones for video pages (FCR, TGP, HSD, etc)

Thanks for explaining. I wouldn't mind seeing it explained in the manual eventually aswell. Currently, the EA guide still explains it as one brightness for the whole MFD, hence my confusion.

Remember these are are early access manuals and as the module is improved with more public documentation and SME input, some procedures are changed to better replicate real procedures and logics.

Our manuals are all being reviewed, they will be updated in due time. Thanks for your patience.

@Lord Vader is this per MFD? So if I adjust brightness of the TGP on my left MFD, should the brightness remain the same if I swap displays to the right MFD or will I need to adjust it on the right MFD on the TGP page as well?

the current implementation requires adjusting it on both screens

The documentation doesn't seem to indicate this is a "central" feature. It makes sense to be a separate setting.

If we think about it, even same model CRTs often have different contrast/brightness levels which can become more evident over time. You may also need to readjust the unit according to light conditions.

But if you find evidence it shouldn't be like this, please send your reference to @BIGNEWY.
