Yes. Jester v2 means a general overhaul of the Jester AI - in steps and as applicable - across modules long term. 🙂

So does that mean:

1. New lovely insults?

2. Same Jester in every Plane or just his „brain“ aka logic?

Is it possible to fix the menu pointer behavior for the Jester menu (in VR)? The radial menu always assumes you are looking front and center when you bring the menu up which makes it difficult to use if you are not.

For example: If I am looking to my 3 o'clock position when I bring up the radial menu in VR I have a difficult time selecting anything on right side of the menu because my head cannot turn even more right to guide the pointer to what I need since the menu pointer is guided through head tracking. It would be nice if no matter where I was looking when I bring up the radial menu the center of the radial menu was always in a universalized point. Yes, I would still have to move my head probably front and center to use the menu effectively, but the key difference is I would never need to close and reopen the radial menu just to reset the pointer to something less unwieldy.

Maybe out of scope for Jester v2, but would it be possible to have Special Options for following:

1. Engagement with Phoenix. Maybe a slider with different ranges for different types of targets?

2. Lock Nearest bandit in STT within a certain range. If it’s a former TWS track with no friendlies around Lock without IFF.

3. Auto-tune datalink and radios.

4. Configure AG weapons. (with different presets to choose from)

just a couple of examples, but It would be nice with options for more automation and less micro management. It’s a lot of work just flying Tomcat :)

I would piggyback off of #4 to say AG selection should flow.  Selecting Mk-82 should then bring you to a station list which should then bring you to quantity (and if ripple selected) should then cycle through ripple settings.

I hope they revamp that entire experience.   Jester needs to do most this work, he just don't know the context (ie. 2 ship targeting) - so for me, let the pilot just confirm vs. do all the work.

So yes, I agree, the micro management needs to greatly decline.   We want a professional in the back seat, not an arm chair DCS wanna be  🙂

Otherwise, just let me control the radar like the lantirn pod...  And PLEASE include and help the VIACOM devs - voice is SOOOOO much better than a wheel.

Agreed, please include the VAICOM dev team where applicable if y'all aren't homebrewing a voice solution.

Standardizing Jester would (possibly) help maintain AIRIO's usefulness across Heatblur's multicrew modules.

Flagging @MAXsenna & @PeneCruz.

Pretty sure Pene will be all over it when available.

I really hope the new logic will come sooner than later!

I never got used to the Jester wheel in the Tomcat but used Vaicom instead. However, that’s not allowed on certain MP servers which stops me from flying it there.

A nice thing is that Jester V2 will likely come with the crew chief menu, too, like on the Phantom. Perhaps then they'll finally implement the OBC and EMER GEN check, in addition to both Jester and crew chief coordinating with various other checks like lights or control surfaces.

One thing I'd like it to be able to do is coordinate an intercept using a canned procedure. IRL, it's the RIO who's responsible for talking the pilot through the BVR fight.

Using Voice Attack instead of VaiCom never gave me problems (since it's basically Keyboard commands)
