Dodge Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) OpenXR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality Updated - 113.2304.14003 https://github.com/microsoft/OpenXR-MixedReality/releases/tag/113.2304.14003 OpenXR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality - 113.2304.14003 Latest Compare mbucchia-msft released this 8 hours ago 113.2304.14003 a46ea22 Note: This runtime must be enabled from the OpenXR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality, under the Settings tab, by toggling Use latest preview OpenXR runtime on. Changes for Hololens 2: Added support for XR_EXT_hand_interaction (cross-vendor implementation of the hand interaction action profile). Added support for XR_MSFTX_scene_marker (HoloLens 2 QR code location and recognition). Changes for Windows Mixed Reality VR: Added support for temporal post-processing of motion vectors (same algorithm as Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR). Improves the quality of motion reprojection. Added support for Nvidia Optical Flow as a source of motion vectors. Improves the quality of motion reprojection on Nvidia RTX cards only. Added option "Prefer frame rate over latency". This option allows an application to render frames faster at the cost of additional latency. It can be used in conjunction with motion reprojection. This is similar to the so-called "Turbo Mode" in the 3rd party application "OpenXR Toolkit". Moved motion reprojection rendering to a high-priority command queue to prevent interference from the application. Fixed a hang in Digital Combat Simulator when motion reprojection is enabled. Fixed a bug with transparency when using motion reprojection. Removed "Automatic" motion reprojection mode (which only meant "Enabled only in Flight Simulator 2020"). Added options to limit the motion reprojection rate to a specific fractional rate. General changes: Fixed miscellaneous issues and OpenXR conformance issues. === Noticed this has a mention about a Motion Reproduction fix for DCS (hanging) Access this update via the 'Microsoft Store' app on your WIndows operating system [Added after initial posting] Some detailed explanation of some of the options available: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/openxr-tools-for-windows-mixed-reality-update-in-the-store-4-14/586988 Another post discussion this particular version (from Page 3) Edited April 15, 2023 by Dodge 3 1 Regards, Paul "Dodge / LondonLad / ChemoBrain" SYSTEM SPECS: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x , 64GB 3600MHz RAM, ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming, NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB GDDR6, IIYAMA 34" Curved GB3466WQSU Monitor, VPC WarBRD-D Base, VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Grip, VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle, VPC Control Panel #2, VPC ACE Interceptor Pedals, TM MFD w/CUBESIM (x2), PointCTRL, HP Reverb G2 VR Headset | Back up: NVIDIA RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6, Thrustmaster HOTAS Throttle, VKB Pedals (v4), Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset, & TrackIR Group: DCAF (Now Left, but a great group to be apart of - UK Based)

YoYo Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) Ok, I found it. Its in MS Store as it was before. Now I have 113.2304.14003v. Im surprised that updates work here only manually. I see new options too. Interesting feature for WMR users! Thanks @mbucchia AGAIN! I wonder if reprojection for OXR will work better with less artifacts and latency. pastranario3 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) Edit: after more tests, the improvement is notable mainly in the handling of repro motion. The update equaled the performance it had previously with steamvr, with the advantage that in some scenarios 1/3 is necessary, like marianas, and it works fine. in the image it is the configuration that I obtained the best. With the optical flow activated I got more jitter/stutering, I have a 3090. thk.!null Edited April 15, 2023 by pastranario3 3

Also tried with toolkit loaaded and with toolkit disabled - no difference Tried with Nvidia 528.49 and the new 531.61 driver. Tried with stock settings and my attached settings. It is smooth most of the time when you fly straight or fly slow turns, but for me smoothness ends when I roll the plane left or right arround the aircrafts axis and look sidewards. Also there is some strange flicker in the upper part of the displays of my Reverb G2 under some circumstances. mbucchia Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 It was worth the try between the 2 modes. TBH what I have learned early on with Motion reprojection is that people will either love it or hate it. There is no seeking 100% satisfaction with it. If it doesn't work we'll for you, don't use it. I'm told that using OpenXR Toolkit or Nvidia options to limit frame rate to 1/2 (eg 45 FPS) without motion reprojection works well. Using a fractional rate like this produces more consistent frame latency and helps with smoothness. Perhaps this is something that can work better than Motion reprojection for you? 4 I wasn't banned, but this account is mostly inactive and not monitored.

Underscore Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 (edited) after some testing....... Turned on System>display>graphics>Default graphics settings..... Hardware-accel GPU scheduling (this produced better results in both MT & ST) MT: Best results with Nvidia flow & prefer frame rate both enabled However due to the 100% CPU4 issue with mutli thread its still a bit stutterey...... so back to ST ST: Best results with Nvidia flow disabled..... but prefer frame rate enabled very smooth gameplay Hope ED fix the MT 100% CPU issue soon as even messing with affinity still is not as smooth as ST Also I think I get better clarity picture in my G2 with the studio driver rather than the game ready.....
