FourSpeed Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Hi Fellow Pilots, I've recently started learning the A-10C II, and I find I'm really enjoying it even more than I expected to.... One oddity with Mavericks I've run into is this: When carrying 6 (on stns 3 & 9), I'm seeing that all mavericks will fire from one station first (ie. 3) before any fire from the other pylon, rather than alternating between them for each shot like they do for other a/c. Note: this occurs even when I have both pylons selected (via DSMS page -> Prof -> Dobber to Mavericks -> Act Pro). If I want to avoid an asymmetrical situation, either I ripple them all in one pass, or I manually manage the stations myself on the DSMS page between shots. This behavior seems quite odd to me, so I'm wondering if I'm missing a setting somewhere, during Mav setup, to have them fire in a balanced sequence. Any insight on this would be much appreciated, Thanks in Advance. Regards, 4 ~S!~ 2
Solution Stuka Posted April 28, 2023 Solution Posted April 28, 2023 This is correct behaviour with A65's on a LAU-88. All missiles from one station will fire first, before the other launcher gets selected. 1 1 Windows 11 | i9 12900KF | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | TM MFDs + Lilliput 8" | TIR5 Pro

Regards, 4 ~S!~ I think the idea is that all Mavs on one pylon are slaved in the same direction, so that after firing one the next Mav's camera will be pointing in the same direction, allowing for a quick retargeting in the same area. This would not be the case switching to the Mavs on the other pylon, but I've not tested this out. I'm not sure this is such a huge advantage in DCS anyway, since the TGP ends up being a big part of most players' workflow, but according to at least one pilot interview, the Maverick tended to be a within-visual-range weapon IRL. In any case the Hog flies fine with massive loadout asymmetry, as long as nothing's broken 1
Stuka Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 The Lau-88 has indeed a quickdraw function where all missiles of the same launcher are slaved to the same spot. 1 Windows 11 | i9 12900KF | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | TM MFDs + Lilliput 8" | TIR5 Pro

FourSpeed Posted April 29, 2023 Author Posted April 29, 2023 Interesting. Good to know I'm not missing something, with the set-up. Thanks! Regards, 4 ~S!~
dporter22 Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 I thought that I had used China Hat Aft Short (Sequence) to manually sequence to the other pylon after it recaged the current Mav, but it doesn't do that anymore. I also thought that the selected station number was shown on the HUD but I don't see that anymore either.
jaylw314 Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 The ED manual says you can only skip to the next pylon by 'cycling the weapons profile with the DMS switch'. Changing the profile away from and back to the Maverick profile does not seem to do this, though, unless you happen to have loaded different Maverick's on the left and right sides, since they will have different profiles.
ASAP Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 china hat aft short isn't cycling to the next pylon it's rejecting the missile. if you have a second missile on the pylon it will step through all the missiles on one pylon before going to a missile on the other pylon. 1
