What is the required AAR kias speed? Drogue tankers top speed for AAR is 250knots… from what I can see.

Try the included quickstart missions and see for yourself?
Or are you asking top/low speed?
Haven't actually noticed myself.

Cheers!

From my admittedly somewhat limited testing, it seems that the F1 likes either being at M0.80 (as stated by the spanish national annex of ATP-56), or at around 220kts around 10,000ft.
The first option means the high lift devices are in and you are showing about 300kts, which is fairly comfy.
The second option requires half flap and is okay, and was practiced by the FAF during operations in Africa as shown in those sick ass 2000s techno-filled low res videos.

When FAF refueled with a C160 they did only 10min of refueling max and with radar on pointed to the ground and half flaps. And engine was kept in a very stable regime.

All of that was done to prevent the plane to start the anti-surge resistor of the alternators.

There was also a method to go "down" during refueling at like 500fpm or 800fpm (can't remember the exact number). To help with the alternators overheating.

Out of curiosity, why not put the radar in standby?

AFAIK it's to have a certain degree of electrical usage to not have issues on the alternators, it only says on the doc "prevent the plane to start the anti-surge resistor of the alternators."
