yeah but most of us wouldn't know it but can now see the HUD. Who in their right mind would not want that because some SME told them it wasn't that bright in RL?

Anyone who cares about realism of the simulated aircraft would not want it, including me. That you can't see HUD in some light conditions is realistic and RL pilot would either use other instruments or just turn on HUD view on one of the MFDs.

Wrong because I want it and so do others. DCS/ED has something in virtually every module that isn't in a real aircraft and no one has died yet. And if you don't want it don't use it.

did not know yet about the mfd I'll give it a try. But looking down seems odd to look at a HUD.

It's probably a bug . 

Use MPD when you need it, it solves the problem of glow from the sun, e.g.

Nothing odd about it. Hornet and Harrier have it too, even Su-27, Su-33 and MiG-29 are using HUD repeaters for the exact reason that HUD is not always readable.
