eddyimac Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Could someone explain why in some regions (Argentina for example) the price of the F-15E DLC is almost double the price of all other modules? I can't understand the reason. Thanks! 1
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted June 23, 2023 ED Team Posted June 23, 2023 Hi, we will ask the team to check the steam prices in different regions. We do not use regional pricing so it should be as close as possible to the US Dollar exchange rate. thank you 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? You should reconsider, not using regional pricing isn't fair, particularly to those whose is undervalued compared to USD. Relying on exchange rate alone often results in absolutely ridiculous prices in markets particularly impacted by this, such as Argentina and Turkey. You should be using purchasing power parity to set prices. If it's too much effort to implement on the store, then at least on Steam. 4

draconus Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 It's about $5 (after exchange) higher price on Steam in Poland vs E-shop. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted June 23, 2023 ED Team Posted June 23, 2023 I will pass on your feedback, but I dont see prices changing from the USD exchange rate. We will of course check exchange rates, we usually do this quarterly, and can not do it near sales as a price change is limited to once every 30 days. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? scommander2 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Sorry, just google for the rate exchange: 1 US Dollar = 252.57 Argentine Peso So: $64.99 * $252.57 = 16,414.5243 Is it closer? Btw. I noticed to high price of F-15E on Steam (in my currency) than in ED store, the difference is about 5$ too. Strange, maybe ED/Steam policy dont know, I bought in ED store finally. 1 Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 4090 24Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro

With all due respect, do your google search well. This value corresponds to the government dollar for industrial and livestock exports. The value of the dollar for purchases with a credit card (official) is approximately 497, maybe in the afternoon it will be 480. I'm sorry if I live in a country with serious economic problems. I just asked a simple question about something that had never happened on Steam. 5
scommander2 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 (edited) Sorry to hear it... and I guess steam did not calculate the price correctly (hope). And, thanks for sharing info. And the money spent on Steam does support the developer. It's less, perhaps, but it also allows the developer access to the world's biggest game distribution platform. That's no small thing. In the last two-weeks I've purchased two copies of the Sinai and one F-15E. I have no qualms about my level of support for the sim. And as for the topic at hand, I paid $98Cdn. w/tax for the Eagle, that's $74US. 1 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
