Hi guys

I have a 2k monitor and rtx3070 gpu along with 9700k and 32gb ram

my problem is my plane looks vet shimmering with 2x or 4x msaa. It looks way better with 2x msaa and 1.5x other aa. But it impacts the performance very bad. What are your aa and af settings?

I just use PD 1.3 for VR (it's basically SSAA), no MSAA/SSAA. AF always max 16x as it's cheap and it's for distant textures - it has nothing to do with AA. Yeah, it's shimmering (you didn't see shimmering in your life until you put on the headset!) but it's always a compromise between quality and performance.

I use MSAA x2.  No, it’s far from perfect.  I’m hoping that when DLSS arrives the option of DLAA (a sub mode of DLSS) will help.  DLAA made a huge improvement to shimmering in another sim and for me was much better than MSAA.

Exactly same config here.

I'm on 2 x MSAA only now (previosly didn't even use that, used Reshade FXAA instead), but that's because maintaining minimum 60 fps is much more important for me than shimmering. I can live with it, though I understand some people can't stand low AA. It's all subjective matter.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
