Heyjax Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 What is the current status of the next update to the MB-339? Looking forward to more bindable controls, and more bug corrections. Also, is IndiaFoxEcho considering adding the C/ CD model? Would be nice to have AA capability besides gun pods. Keep up the good work, I love this plane. 2 2

Bigskill Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 I don't think the MB339 had a lot of success, even tho is a marvelous plane, the effort is too much for a variant that not many will buy. Not worth it. Better focus on something else! 1

Maybe the 339 is "not worth" as you say, but the people who bought it (paying money) still deserve to get a complete module. LordOrion Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 (edited) From IFE Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063594881948&locale=ms_MY Quote DCS PROJECTS UPDATE (FINALLY...) ************************************** We have not been posting DCS news in while - fact is that DCS development is very resource-intensive especially on the coding side, so a lot of work happens in the background... and there were not flashy screenshots to show. Here is the situation on our DCS projects: DCS MB-339A: While we have not posted news in a while, we have kept on working on the MB.339 for DCS trying to fix the outstanding bugs and add new features. We are aware the most annoying bug of this module was a rare nosewheel issue which could, in certain conditions, cause explosion or critical damages to the aircraft when taxing. Unfortunately, for a very long time we have not been able to reproduce it. After quite a lot of work we have excluded all the possible internal and external causes affecting the module, and we finally have isolated the problem and we fixed it. The fix will be included in the next DCS Openbeta Patch - we apologize for the inconvenience. Meanwhile we are working to add new features, in particular we are focused on the flight director and a working GunCamera (thanks to our friend @Grinnelli for the tip). We are also working on new key bindings, gunsight for the instructor seat and the possibility to tune the trim axis speeds. DCS G-91R We have been working on coding the aircraft systems (electrical, fuel, hydraulic and pneumatic) to have a solid foundation fo this module: we will provide more details in a dedicated post in the not so distant future. At the moment we do not have release date planned - as usual "it is done when it is done". DCS future projects: We have other, ambitous projects for DCS, but at the moment we cannot discuss about this. We will disclose our plans once the G-91 development will be in a more advanced stage Edited September 2, 2023 by LordOrion 2 2 RDF 3rd Fighter Squadron - "Black Knights": "Ar Cavajere Nero nun je devi cacà er cazzo!" Glide Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 Just picked this up for the Halloween sale, and it is wonderful! I love the flight model! Flew a little recon mission up over the Caucasus, and I put it down like butter in a wheat field. As I was climbing up over the mountains my canopy started fogging up. Then the ice started forming. Quick scramble for the icing controls and all's good. Worth every penny. 5

dogsbody59 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 will there be anymore updates for this aircraft? Still no auto pilot as an example
buur Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 There are updates to this plane. Best is to check the DCS Changelog. If you are waiting for an auto pilot, maybe without effect. The plane has no auto pilot. Or you mean the flight director? It is announced to the next update. 2
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 I think publishing a trainer in DCS is hard, that's why most of them are free mods nowadays. Sigh. I Fly, Therefore I Am. virgo47 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 (edited) I love trainers, I've got L-39 and C-101 - both great modules - and Yak-52... not sure what to say about that one (virtually no love from ED right now). I'd consider buying MB-339, even though I like L-39 looks more but I like that you can unmount the wingtip tanks on this one. It's a strange plane to me, but so is any trainer to any random guy I guess. I've seen it's predecessor (MB-326) in Catania roundabout and that one reminded me L-29 Delfin (Dolphin) a bit - MB-339 is a bit in the middle, as it definitely doesn't look as a more modern plane than L-39 Albatros - but it is. And of course, it's western style, more like C-101 than L-39. But I just don't know right now. I expect certain level of control flexibility on both the bindings and clickable cockpit - yet MB-339 is somewhat subpar in both aspects. E.g. flap lever is not clickable, it has some bindings - but no bindings for each position (3 of them). Many things are only clickable with no bindings. I hope this gets better - but only if there is a commitment to do so. I tried to overcome some of these limitations with Quaggles control injector, but I failed - this was the first module that I couldn't enhance easily with Quaggles, which was a downer. I have no idea, how IFE sees the module, whather it pays off or not (I wish it does)... it would be great to at least know what the future of trainers is. ED seems to ignore its last attempt (Yak-52) altogether, but I hope this doesn't happen to MB-339. It has a lot of flexibility (in this category). I don't quite like how it flies, it swings like a helicopter when I roll it - but I get it if it's realistic (L-39 is way more snappy). I like the tutorials, although some should be extended, but I appreciate the voiceover. I believe it has a lot of effort put into it already and I guess only a bit is missing. At least those are my first impressions after a busy week. Seeing fixes in many recent 2.9.x patches gives me hope that many of these things will get fixed. Not all of them have to, of course. I'm looking forward to the future and I'll review the module as soon as possible again.
