jackd Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) Since i installed the Mosquito the L-Win + Home autostart sequence is always on. Also when i start another ww2 plane AND the Christen Eagle. So in general active at game start it seems. How can you switch that off? It's not with f.i helicopters, Su_25T BTW Edited September 12, 2023 by jackd
MAXsenna Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Are you saying that the modules automatically autostarts by themselves from cold and dark even if you didn't press the key combo?Double check that you haven't bound any switches/buttons on any peripherals by accident. jackd Posted September 12, 2023 Author Posted September 12, 2023 yep, and also with carefully configured control settings for other planes like Spitfire etc., that worked OK before without autostart, and now autostart defaults all of a sudden always ... You can't stop it with Lwin + Home, you just have to wait it out ...

You're sure you don't have a toggle switch that's bound to autostarts and have "synced with HOTAS" or similar in the general settings? You could rename your DCS folders under Saved Games temporarily to see if it solves it.Cheers! jackd Posted September 12, 2023 Author Posted September 12, 2023 Not that i can find, but I have my profiles in a separate folder on my F-SSD drive for Games, named 'DCS settings and profiles'. Always worked that way LoL.

jackd Posted September 13, 2023 Author Posted September 13, 2023 No symlinks, scout's honor. Been doing this since i started with DCS 3 years ago ..

Yeah, but DCS are not using those. Those are your "backups" because you have been manually saving them, which is not necessary. ALL your settings that DCS use are under Saved Games. That's how it works. I do admit that is confusing. Whenever you press that green "OK" button, your changes are saved. The path marked in green. That's were your controller settings actually are. Cheers! 1
jackd Posted September 14, 2023 Author Posted September 14, 2023 (edited) Hi Max, thanks. Just saw it, been troubleshooting the Mosquito with other issues for a while, but i will look into this later. Confusing, now where's that frigging autostart buggin' me ... just committed a repair, it's still the same. can it be this in that config folder in the file options.lua, ["ground_engine_autostart"] is set to true; see pic: ------------------------------ BTW that whole saved games stuff in DCS, i wish there was a clearer system here or even 3rd party tool for the lot. Good tip on the backups, never realized this Edited September 14, 2023 by jackd
MAXsenna Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 @jackdYou could try to rename Saved Games, or the Config\Input folder to see if it helps and then narrow it down. The entry in the Options file you found is CA=Combined Arms. It's for ground vehicles. Don't remember what for.Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
Flappie Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Good idea. Maybe some script installed in the "Saved Games/DCS.../Scripts" folder is responsible. 1 ---
MAXsenna Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Good idea. Maybe some script installed in the "Saved Games/DCS.../Scripts" folder is responsible.Yup!@jackdWhat you could try first is actually just rename the \Saved Games\DCS or DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\Mosquitoxxxx folder to. Mosquitoxxxx.old, because only the Mossie is affected. If that doesn't work, then the Scripts folder to Scripts.old like Flappie suggests. We establish on another thread that there is some confusion about how the controls settings are saved in the game. Do you have both Stable (DCS folder) and OpenBeta (DCS.openbeta folder) installed, or have you ever converted Stable to OpenBeta?Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
jackd Posted September 15, 2023 Author Posted September 15, 2023 (edited) Nope, always used OpenBeta ... like diving dangerously LoL BUT THAT FIXED it ! ... however when i re-imported my controller settings from the backups above the autostart sequence was active again. PS renaming that scripts file did not solve it, and you'll need to do a quick repair aftar that to reinstall it. I have the Spitfire and the PD51 both i'll behaving the same (autostart always on) But for each plane there are two input files i don't get the why of it: Edited September 15, 2023 by jackd
Solution Art-J Posted September 15, 2023 Solution Posted September 15, 2023 1) There are two Spitfires in the game, clipped and non-clipped one. The game sees them as separate units (even though they're functionally the same), hence two folders in Config/Input. ED somehow managed to get around this in newer P-47 module, but older Spit is still programmed this wacky way; 2) Repair command only affects core game folder and it doesn't do anything in Saved Games folder, so don't bother with repairing. That also means, however, that there was something messed up in these Spit controls profiles of yours. You said in the other thread that you imported them to other planes for further tweaking (bad idea in the first place). Well - there you have it - you just imported the same error to remaining planes. Now we have to figure out what the error is and where in diff.lua files it's hidden. Personally, I'd rather start with clean sheet and redo the controls. It would certainly take less time to do it than this whole troubleshooting process. 3) Do you still use Game FM or switched to simulation FM in the end? Were the Spit control profiles you used as a basis for remaining planes originally made for game FM or sim one? I don't even know if it's possible to import game FM profile to sim FM profile, but I suspect it could cause unforseen issues. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
jackd Posted September 15, 2023 Author Posted September 15, 2023 (edited) I used to have Game FM on but only recently switched it off. Guess i made profiles with it on .... Mosquito profile i indeed imported from the Spit. I guess you are right, i defaulted all Mosquito controls and the autostart sequence is no longer present .. I defaulted and reloaded control settings for each control unit: the bug is in my Warthog throttle file it seems ! And th weird thing is that it automatically has disappeared from the Spit and P51D it was present too after i set the throttle axis and buttons to my liking new, but only done for the Mosquito .... Marked this as solved, but also by MAXsenna ... Edited September 15, 2023 by jackd 2

They can be transferred to other computers or used in new Windows installations, the files just needs to be renamed with a new device ID.CHEERS! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk 1
