DmanGIV Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I’ve had some trouble on cold starting on the Enterprise with the F-14. It seems that the alignment process hangs on this ship. Both the early and later CVN-65. I have not tried the full alignment with the F-18 yet. Is this a known issue?

TeTeT Posted July 18 Author Posted July 18 We now have built a first release candidate for Vietnam War Vessels 2.0.0. The renaming of all the folders to start with [VWV] primarily mandated the change in version numbers. But we also have two exciting new assets: USS Enterprise '66 from James - the first nuclear driven carrier will join the fleet in 2.0.0 A-37 Dragonfly from Hawkeye60, an iconic US and South Vietnamese aircraft of the war We also have improved a few other assets and completely swapped the H-2 Seasprite model. There's also a bunch of items we would have loved to push to 2.0.0, but they are not ready yet. Namely the MiG-21PFM and the RF-101B Voodoo. Stay tuned for them at a later date! 14

Hmm, let me know how to be more clear than the current text. The readme states How to install The mods directory needs to go into your Saved Games DCS folder.

C:\Users\..\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\ Your path to Saved Games may vary, as well as the name of your DCS folder under Saved Games. I think if you copy and paste the downloaded "mods" folder into your DCS.openbeta folder within Saved Games, it should place the items into their correct folders and subfolders under \Saved Games\mods\. ...right? Does that help? 1
PB0_CEF Posted Friday at 01:17 PM Posted Friday at 01:17 PM Hello we are using intensively your great Mod for our forthcoming NAM's DCE Campaign and I'm looking for a Junk, or even better, a lightly armed Junk to diversify the targets in Search and Destroy missions using helicopters or light aircraft. I haven't found anything like it. Would this happen to be in your future projects? 2 All known Dynamic Campaign Engine Campaigns Last DCE news : Crisis in PG - Iran-Iraq War - TF-71 - TF80s - War over Beirut ...

Meantime there's a @Hawkeye60 mod we listed lately in Vietnam War Assets : Junks - https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/krf42z2o26etaeeml6enm/Vietnam-Junks-V1.0.0.zip?dl=0&e=1&rlkey=ywhxt44hex4cv7xd61l4yuxb2 Good luck with your project! We decided to give Vietnam War Vessels 2.0.0 another weekend of testing, but bar any crash to desktops found, we will release on Monday 2025-07-28... Cheers, TeTeT 5

Cheers, TeTeT Thanks for the link Those Sampan and junks are beautiful ! Alas it seems that they cannot sink ... they are destroyed with rockets but there no way to see it : junks don't disappear at all or don't have any damage model ... Sinking should be enough for me A small drawback too is that it seems to be impossible to put live boat on my NAM rivers only statics but it's not a big problem for me. It could be a nice hidden harbor addons ! We are waiting for you new version impatiently thanks Edited Friday at 09:48 PM by PB0_CEF screenshot All known Dynamic Campaign Engine Campaigns Last DCE news : Crisis in PG - Iran-Iraq War - TF-71 - TF80s - War over Beirut ...

In Deep waters it works fine Thank you again for this link ! And perfect timing. Am finishing up an SEA Omni Map, built on the new Mariaias II map. TF77/CarDiv 2, Chu Lai (SATS), and 60 A/C on each side with fighter and attack mission routes. Lamenting the Arleigh Burke/Ticonderoga Class ship contingency, and have been hunting for a Sumner Class. No more. Tomorrow. Bowie. 1
TeTeT Posted Sunday at 07:06 PM Author Posted Sunday at 07:06 PM Vietnam War Vessels 2.0.0 This release is a major update of the Vietnam War Vessels mod. With VWV 2.0.0 comes a new directory structure, where all assets have a [VWV] prefix in the folder name. This makes it necessary that you first uninstall the old Vietnam War Vessels 1.x.y completely. We welcome the USS Enterprise, CVAN-65, in its 1966 configuration, to the fleet. The first nuclear driven carrier has been derived from the modern USS Enterprise, and takes a place of its own now. The complete launch and parking system has been overhauled, leading to a hopefully more immersive experience. The second new addition to the mod is the A-37 Dragonfly. This iconic aircraft of the Vietnam War is now available for AI use within the virtual DCS sky. Please take a look at the Known Limitations below! Updates, Ships Knox class - FF icons are used instead of DD BB-62 New Jersey - CC map icon in use, better helicopter landing on the deck, new custom shell for main armament CVA Essex and Bon Homme Richard - model improvements, nick name as short display name for Bonnie Dick Many ships - sound updates to gun fire Updates, Planes A-1 Skyraider - split into A-1H (with bridle cat support) and AD-4 (without), add Napalm bombs from A-4E-C mod, add toilet bombs to all pylons, rework flight model to take off from Essex ‘44 with 70% loadout H-2 Seasprite - use of a new model, split into SH-2F, UH-2A, UH-2B, UH-2C classes MiG-21MF overhauled nose gear, support for RATO take-offs O-1 Bird Dog, add engine nozzle definition, Flight Model change for more realistic take-off RA-5C Vigilante - Flight Mode change, more lift at low speed Known Limitations CVA-31 Bon Homme Richard - Player controlled helicopters slightly move forward on the flight deck F-8 Crusader - Aircraft is intended as static and for limited AI operations - Player control is experimental at best, but largely untested and unsupported - Carrier launch and landing operations are not supported for player aircraft, only AI - Unknown how to drop bombs as player aircraft - Variable incidence wing is not enabled - Collision shell not reliable under player control - Nose wheel rotation disabled MiG-17F "Fresco-C" - Player control is almost untested and unsupported - Collision shell not reliable under player control - Damage susceptible when placed as static H-2 Seasprite - Wheels don't touch the ship deck - Landing gear is deployed multiple kilometers away from landing spot Fletcher Class Destroyers with FRAM II upgrade - Bridge and mast are WWII style RA-5C Vigilante - The plane is too large for regular parking spots, best to use as single plane on the runway MiG-21MF "Fishbed-C" - Textures are work in progress - Gear up location is pretty bad A-1 Skyraider - The new bridle disappears during launch - The precision of dropping Napalm is abysmal - Takes off like a spaceship from land - Tiny Tim rockets seem never to be launched A-37 Dragonfly - Flight model is raw and has not been tested much - Only one pilot ejects, ejection somewhat broken O-1 Bird Dog - The propeller blur is static CVAN-65 Enterprise - Catapult hookup spotty, sometimes planes start to drift - Parking spotty, some planes start to drift - Probable inability to sync INS when taking off cold - RA-5C and F-14 Tomcat slightly too large for safe aircraft operations when taxiing - The shoot power of the catapults seems insufficient at times - No support for night operations, e.g. no lights Download (Github): https://github.com/tspindler-cms/tetet-vwv/releases Alternative download (Google Drive): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/16pUuupD08L36KnD6vDel5VRlmwwftX5o?usp=drive_link Enjoy, The Vietnam War Vessels team 5 7
Bowie Posted Monday at 02:21 PM Posted Monday at 02:21 PM Thanks for the great work. NOTE: github.com/TeTeT.VietnamWarVessels.base.2.0.0 - produced an empty .zip folder after a several minute D/L. However, drive.google.com D/L of the same file worked fine, as did the github.com/TeTeT.VietnamWarVessels.liveries.2.0.0 Thanks again. Bowie
