max22 Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Title says it all. Please allow for the flaps to open automatically when reaching 250 knots.
razo+r Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 (edited) Leave the flap lever in the Auto/Down position and then the flaps will automatically extend/retract when you pass 250 Kts. That's already implemented. Edited November 29, 2023 by razo+r 6

No, it is advised to manually retract the flaps after take off. The auto retraction is just flaps overspeed protection, not a convenience feature. So the extra lift and subsequent lower AoA must have outweighed the extra drag from the flaps. It was weird because the plane slowed down, dropped flaps, started speeding up again and when the flaps raised again it started slowing down.

You were too heavy, too high - in either configuration it's not optimal. I was up high hunting migs but got stuck heads down too long and didn't notice that I had been nose high and lost all my speed.
