I fully understand. Having each faction modelled individually would be overkill. It would be nice however, to have "insurgent" infantry (and maybe gun crews) come in two or three semi generic "regional" flavors: For example "European/Eastern European", "Middle East", "Central Asia"... etc. Then add a few cosmetics like flagpoles with different flags (not only for insurgents, but also all available nation states) and i feel it would be perfectly adequate for a world that's mostly only viewed through a targeting pod anyway....

As far as I can tell these groups are usually just wearing non-descript civilian clothes during combat. If we had some "Insurgent" infantry units that looked like civilians with AK47s and RPG, that would be sufficient to cover most groups of irregular fighters. 

What I think we can all agree on is that the infantry models available in DCS are generally pretty terrible and some more variety in both looks and/or behavior would be a welcome addition.

Yeah, I agree with this. What we need in DCS is a "RedFor" Insurgent faction and a "BluFor" insurgent faction since insurgent forces can be on either side of a conflict (the Alliance and US led coalition vs Taliban and AlQuida are a good example of this during OEF).

One thing I think we need for the Insurgents are some 'cars with armed passengers', basically a car with a guy leaning out with an AK or something, and is only visible when attacking something. Imagine a COIN mission like that, where the cars you're seeing could be civilians or could be hostile... but until they start shooting at you, you can't tell for certain.

If these groups will be added to the game, then please at least make it with fictional names since the names and flags of the terror groups are banned in my country.

We are not adding them, it isnt planned.
