DCS appreciation again...

after seeing Nick Grey interview.. and watching the events of the recently release and cancelled game  "The Day Before"

made me realize more how lucky i am, and i think how lucky we are to have Eagle Dynamics.

 

1) Mr Nick Grey.. this dude flies real planes. i mean, he can easily just bat an eye on simulators.. but he continues to share the passion of planes being involved in DCS.

2) "The Day Before" was a game that was based on investor funding, which ppl who have nothing to do with gaming, at least from news that i have seen. this project ended up being a scam which ppl paid for and then a week later they pulled the plug on this game.

as much as we complain how ED aren't doing something things, but i feel like they do other things, things that just take time.

thank you and keep doing what u are doing, ED and all the 3rd party guys.

Yea, remember that flight sim scam 15-20years ago called Hangar-18, some crap like that. Screens kinda looked amazing for it’s day, and people paid for access to Hangar-18 for full updates and first look; well there never was a first look, they took whatever monies they pulled from folks and quickly left the building lol.

Yes, we are lucky that ED is full on, high fidelity flight simming, and looks great too. They need to get the ATC and ATO working though- I mean F4/BMS has had a full working ATC and ATO for damn near 25years. I use to get put in line as like number 10-12 in takeoff orders at times the airport was so busy. Then inbound would usually get an orbit position instead of clear-to-land for the same reason; and once it’s your turn ATC contacts you with CTL vectors. Plus, if you dial into the airport freq, you can hear ATC talking to all the a/c it’s handling…quite impressive and amazing!! It’s a real working airport and ATC!

Come on ED, let’s get ‘er done already! Such a fine sim w broken ATC, pathetic wingman commands and zero ATO.

EDIT: of course you can’t have ATO w/out a dynamic campaign but for the love of all that’s holy, fix the ATC and wing commands…simple things like ‘declare fuel’, ‘status’, drop tanks, ‘contacts’, etc. 

Still, love DCS! Keep it up Ed!!

Never heard of hangar.. but interest to hear, not to forget the bad apples as history seemingly repeat it self. We can get caught up in the hype. I remember 10 years back I bought a game called operation Flashpoint dragon rising. It was supposed To be sequel to Flashpoint. But it turned out to be a flub, dropped 60$ for something only played for a week. I mean I was from codemasters, which had a good reputation. 

Anyways mrdetroit is just sharing two cents to find what he wants so ed can be a better product, just keep voice in a positive way..all good, we love ED!

Dear all, please mind the rules, including but not limited to 1.15. 

I understand that other older games had things we would like, but I also know that if we made 90's quality versions of those items you would be even more upset with us. It might be ok for a free mod, but not DCS. So we will take our time and do the very best we can. I would suggest you look top the DCS: Supercarrier for ATC improvements and the direction we want to travel.

Sorry for the rudeness, but that guy deserved it and started it in the first place!, I simply replied to his comment. I think a warning is a bit much, my first in 10years here, but ok.

AnyhowI will actually buy that Supercarrier this weekend, when x-mas break starts here at Boeing. Sounds like what I’m after as far as ATC goes.  

Last but not least; not upset with ED, was just pointing out a few fundamental issues, no disrespect meant!  DCS is a very awesome piece of work, I just hoping for a few things to happen.

Just an FYI the ATC that Bignew post about for the Super Carrier is not in place yet and has been promised for a while, its still to come and we don't know when, just "soon" is all we get from ED, it could still be a year away.

@hannibal I passed on your kind words to Nick himself and he was very appreciative. I will close this now as some are using it to air their wants and desires. Thanks!
