Wait till Wednesday for the new DCS patch.

I hear they may have a fix for shadows, and lots more.

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."

I have seen these shadows caused by one texture or object touching another, causing a conflict.

The same or different does not matter

Move the objects apart a tiny bit so there is a gap between them

Could also be possible it has to do with the Reflection of the material (object) as well even? Ive seen similar mods have somewhat blue shadowing or reflections off of them in the past..

Reversed normal's in the model.

Had a similar issue.

Currwnthill explained to me about how to switch them from from back to front.

Done in Max.

Using a tool.

Do not remember at present the work flow, or tool.

Worth a look/try.

Ask Him. how to do this.

He is always willing to help.

I remember you must not select two sided texture to do the edit.

I thought this was an issue with the thickness of the edm and uneven ground, if its really thin and there is even the slightest uneven bit of ground underneath it then this happens, if you make it a little bit thicker this problem goes away.

It's worth a try I would say.

For anyone interested and for future reference. I did some testing and found that the issue occurs when an object is placed very close to the DCS ground, the proximity of the two surfaces will create the strange effect mentioned in this thread.

I found that the issue can be fixed by unchecking the 'Shadow caster' in the material settings before exporting.
