Focus on Military/strategic sites

Hi

All the maps in DCS have a common problem, developers focus on wrong things like cities, churches/mosques, civil airport, etc. DCS focus on military, then the maps should focus in air bases, military bases, chopper bases, civil assets with strategic importance (power plants, train stations, some ports, goverment buildings, etc), SAM and EWR Sites with their corresponding revetment (please dont put trees on sam sites). Please dont focus on mosques/churches, archeological sites or other assets with no military importance.

Persian Golf have multiple custom buildig at Dubai, but there isn't a single SAM/EWR site depicted, ILS are still broken on multiple bases, multiple power plants, ports, refineries not modeled, etc.

Syria and Sinai have the same problem but they are 3rd parties developers so Im not going to mention more details.

Thanks, I really enjoy this simulator, but please take this in consideration.

Absolutely agree. Items such as those you've listed should definitely have higher priority than they currently do. Some maps are certainly better than others, but then there are some where's there's either very little or nothing modelled.

The only thing I'll say about EWR sites though, is that I wish they'd be left empty (with just the correct border, fences etc) - I don't really see the point of having radars that are purely cosmetic (such as what's seen at some locations on the Syria map), having the sites empty makes it easier to place radars that can be used as functional units.

I agree with this request, but considering the state of other maps, including third party maps, I'm not hopeful. Based on how other maps handle military sites there is a concerted effort to NOT correctly model them, for some reason. I will say there appears to be a higher tolerance for modelling military sites in "Bluefor" areas of the map. The Persian Gulf map is the most egregious example of not modeling military sites, but objects that would be clear targets are missing from Syria and Kola as well. I didn't include Caucasus because there was no effort to accurately model any of the buildings there. ED just used generic objects for cities or removed them entirely.

Concur, I don't understand why major military bases, such as Al Udeid, are omitted in favor of purely civil fields.  I understand having them if there is/was a military presence, but if I wanted to land at a civil field I would play msfs.

Agreed on most, minus the church and mosque part.

A) high towers/minarets double as visible landmarks for orientation, especially close to the ground (Helicopter, Combined Arms).

B) in modern conflicts they pose a tactical challenge, as typically ROEs will have them as "no fire zones"/protected areas, that can integrate nicely into mission design and planning etc.

But I agree we would benefit from more power plants, dams, military installations.

Yes, it does seem that ED is mostly steering away from anything military in their maps in favor of detailed tourist experience, this is great as well but should complement the military side and not dominate it.

However, I don't agree that Syria and even Sinai have the same problem. Syria particularly is heavily militarized map with numerous military installations, important strategical POIs and even having destruction models for many strategic and also civilian POIs and still many coming.

Even ED's NTTR map which by definition is serving military training purposes lacked training range modeling almost as if EDSA is censoring military installations on purpose - however those are publicly visible and described already.

Finally Iraq map was released. But, there isn't a single SAM site depicted. ED, if you will not depict military stuff on your maps, at least give us the chance to make our own with static objects. "SAM Sites Asset Pack" Its a great mod to populate SAM sites. Like you did with Massun92 mod, wich was a great adition to DCS, you should integrate "SAM Sites Asset Pack" or at least part of it.
