MISSION   Air Refueling mission with the F-15E. Tanker will not respond. 258 is tuned in on #1 Radio and is also in the mission editor. i pushed the am-am button on #2 radio and turned up all volume controls. No response. There are two F-15Es that refuel ahead of me. There is no freq in briefing. ive tried different freq in mission editor and went back to 258. Tried both radioes. Nothing

Works fine for me, already tuned correctly. Which keybind are you using for PTT?

It´s not "bugged", you just have to activate MAN-AM

The manual is lacking here.

Quote

MAN AM / MAN FM (PB 9): Changes between AM and FM bands. FM mode allows the aircrew to use the frequencies between 30.000 to 87.975 MHz.

Frequency (PB 10): Displays freqency preset to channel displayed next to PB 1. It can be changed via a scratchpad entry. Depending on the selected frequency it will either display AM (for UHF and VHF bands) or FM (for the FM band).

It doesn't say it needs an *, it says it changes AM and FM

sounds more like a walkaround, and thanks for poinintg out, as it is nice we can use Radio 2, for the time being.

but why is Radio 2 defaulting FM for those AM freq? Seems like a pretty obvious bug, I cannot believe this kind of Mil V/UHF Radio is operating like that for real.

Seems strange also is not recognized as a known bug already.

Not too tech savy. no comprende  PTT
Ouch! Apologies! Been there myself. PTT = Push-to-Talk! So, in the controls settings, which keybind do you use, whether you use a keystroke, or have bound a button on on your HOTAS.
I'm using VAICOM, a plugin for VoiceAttack, which means I'm "talking" directly to the AI might be the reason I seldom have issues.
Cheers!

So that's the general binding for the comms menu.  My understanding is that it does NOT work in the F-15E.  You MUST use the bindings in the Settings->Controls->Throttle Grip category labelled "Mic switch FWD" and "Mic Switch AFT" to use Radio 1 and Radio 2, respectively.  Hopefully someone corrects me if the words are not 100% accurate since I'm doing this from memory, I also do not know what the default keyboard bindings are for those.

It works in multiplayer but not in the misson section in the program. I would think that it would already set up si;nce its more or less a training misson and i get the AM / FM thing.

THX again!  The exact line is "MIC switch FWD (call radio 1 menu)" ....the other is VOIP

                                                                       AFT                   2
