Absolutely No. Neither do they fit in the case, nor would the gimbal be strong enough for them. You can 100% forget this.

If you want the big motors, you need to design something on your own or find a completely different kit.

Ok so why are there motor options on the VP Force page?

Because the use of VPforce tech and software is not limited to the Rhino. I for example built FFB pedals with it. Others made collectives and sticks and so on of their own design.

I recommend the VP discord. There you get a whole community of Rhino users and FFB-DIYers of all walks.

Thanks, I actually am on their discord.  I guess I was just misinformed.  I had been told by another Rhino user that it would take the larger motors if you wanted to go that way with the build.

Well the larger motors are quite literally „large“. 😅

LOL Oh i get that but larger by itself doesn't mean it won't fit...didn't know if the case was designed to accommodate multiple sizes...

There may be different kits, that would suit the big boys. But I‘m not aware of any that are so well rounded and sophisticated like this one here.

My personal opinion is, that the rhino -as it is, be it kit or pre build- is strong enough for a very good experience with the „small“ motors.

When you go on the protomaker rhino clone github page, you can preview all the parts and also download a building instruction. That will give you an idea what to expect.

I actually build my rhino from this kit and am quite happy with it. Was a fun experience!

Yeah I've been going back and forth on building it or just getting it made.  I think there are about 50 people in front of me...  I enjoy DIY project though.  If there's no quality advantage to having it made for you it would be cool to build with the kit

Apart from a slightly more polished finish…. I don’t see why the DIY-Rhino should be inferior to the prebuilt one. I didn’t regret building it for a second. In fact, DIYing it enabled me to make some individual mods to suit my needs and taste.

Thanks for chiminig in Hiob! Much apprechiated!
@Greekbull Dont worry. Youll love the rhino with the motors its supposed to be built with. So much i can guarantee you;)
All you need is the Winger/Kaltokri Kit, The VPForce Motor kit, a PSU, some basic tools and a few hours of patience.
Thats all that keeps you from flying your favourite aircaft with unprecedented immersion within the next 2 weeks;)

EDIT: If you wan to raise your immersionlevel even more (if you have either TM TPR-Pedals or MFG Crosswinds), then you can go for a VPForce mod on these.
Kaltokri is AFAIK working on offering kits for both. 3D print parts will be same quality as the parts that come with our Rhino kit.
Pedals kits will be PETG-CF 100% for maximum durability.

I bought one of "Wingers" DIY kits and assembled it in less than a day once my motors had been delivered. I have had daily use with it for about two weeks now and absolutely loving it.

I was going to print all the parts myself but instead decided to purchase a DIY kit from Winger for convenience. I have to say that the quality of Winger’s kit was outstanding and the kit comes with all the required hardware to complete, the motors/control board are purchased separately. The Gimbal came pre-assembled as did the emergency stop button wiring and all the printed parts were very well made and slotted together with no problems. Had to open up the holes on the bearing retainers slightly with a drill to allow the bolts to pass through easily but that's all, everything just slotted in to place.

The VpForce telem FFB software is amazing and injects many effects in to the joystick which allows you to fly by feel. The Heatblur F-4E is made for FFB and it's great now as you can really “feel” what the jet is doing. The Rhino works equally well with helicopters, you click the cyclic stick "Force trim" button and the stick holds it’s position just as the real thing would.

If your comfortable using basic hand tools and doing a little bit of wiring than i would highly recommend taking the “Winger” DIY route. You can have a VPRhino up and running in about two weeks, which is the time it took for the motor kit from VpForce to be delivered.

Hey Chris!

I am glad you like the kit and everything worked out without Problems.
Also glad you love FFB. As a dedicated passionate simmer, what else can you do with such a bunch of extra immerson but loving it?
I for my part really could'nt go back to non FFB.

Best regards, thanks for our feedback and fly safe!

Really enjoying the immersion and "feel" that the Rhino provides, when you throw VR and the jet seat (Simshaker) in to the mix as well it's amazing.

Mainly play the F-4E these days and can fly it by feel now, Heatblur have done a really good job of implementing FFB support with their module.

Thank you, Winger and Rolf, for this fantastic kit! I was able to assemble it in just one evening, and everything fit together perfectly. This base truly adds another level of immersion. If you’re looking for a Rhino without waiting in line for a year, this is definitely the way to go.

How does the Monstertech mount hold up with the weight & forces?

The mount is solid. There is some flex when I press it down but my table flexes more than the mount.

Finished up mine last Friday.  Pretty simple build in about 3 hours with some breaks.  Worst part is getting the rear bearing retainers in place.

I did a long video to document the build process for myself.

Did run into an issue with a cold solder joint on the USB-B connector from Walmis.  Drove me nuts for a day as it was the data line so USB would show, but also show unrecognized device.  Pulled it out, re-soldered and much better,  Still cuts out once in awhile so I will build a new breakout cable once I can find the small end.

Flying the F4, F5 and all the helos is so much easier now!

How many kg can you pull with the Rhino and a 20 cm Virpil?
Is there still enough power?

Depending on the overall length of your stick, about 2.3 to 2.5 kg. *

There are plenty of people that use such an extension (me included) and are very happy with the Rhino.**

Best place to get information (and help) about the Rhino is the VP discord.

(*the same you would get with the MOZA, except the Rhino has a MUCH better software support currently.)

**and I'm not even setting it to max spring force most of the time. More like 65%

I second what Hiob said.
I also used a 20cm S extension by VPC with my Rhino and was very happy with it.
There is always the option of the MONSTER RHINO if you want more force...
