There was a very useful tool that consisted of recording map views (mission running) which generated a .lua file.
The way to generate these bookmarks, which are still archived after the update, in:
X:\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\View\Bookmarks\terrains
It was going to the map F10, find the position to save, press Ctrl F11, and then the letter "z".
This generated a dropdown menu, where you named the position to save.
To access that saved view, it was accessed in the same way and only double-clicked on the name of the saved position.

I have tried many combinations of letters to access the menu after the 2.8 update, without results.

I hope ED reads this, or if someone discovered the way to access it, indicate how to do it.

Thank you

Hello. I think the WASD keys have been "internationalized" in the last update. Are you using a QWERTY keyboard or another keyboard layout?

Hi Plappie, I am using qwerty.
I think (hope) ED changed the key to access (as I mentioned "z", no longer works).

Cheers

Thank you very much, I had not seen that option, but it is not as useful as the one that existed before.
It had a dropdown menu that showed all the views recorded in a lua file that I could also share.

Thank you anyway

If go to your control settings and type in the keyword "book" it will show two things, "Camera bookmarks editor" and "Camera bookmarks menu bar"

As far as I can tell this is non functioning. However like 2 years ago I was able to make the menu appear so I swear that it was working at one point in time. But even when I did make it appear I could not interact with it.

Does anyone have any information on this and how use it.

And yes I tried the keyboard combination listed, nothing happens.

Guys I was messing around in single player and I must have pressed some weird combo. But all of a sudden the mythical book mark menu appeared? I don't know what I pressed to make it show but it did. I pressed F12 to take a screen shot with steam and then it switch to another camara but then I was not able to make the menu come back. So it does its exists if we can figure out how to make it appear.

Okay I found how to bring it up and its infuriating how under our noses it is. All you do is press F4 & right click. You can also access it from object local camera(Right Cntrl F2) the right click there too. But I'm not sure how to use it. If someone can bring it up and dig into it more than let use know.
