amalahama Posted March 3, 2024 Posted March 3, 2024 Hi, In the Hornet roadmap, it's indicated that the INS and GPS simulation has been completed. But the INS modeling in the hornet is very lacking, INS fix methods are not present (even if in GPS-denied missions the INS would drift) and the DMS also lacks functionalities like the option to pan around the map. Can we expect some additional features in the INS modeling in the future? In the F-16 for example, various INS fix methods have been implemented. Regards 8
Ahmed Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 +1, there are still quite a few inconsistencies in the INS modeling, update modes that are not implemented, and also some shortcuts taken, such as this one: 2

This is not a bug; no map should be displayed at 80 or 160. 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
Foka Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 But still on some maps it's bugged and showing properly on 40/20 nm scale. 1
Tholozor Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 That's a problem with the map, where it's missing the map graphics for that scale. 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/

It is possible to place pretty much anything you want on the map layers, and it is not limited by scale. I won't get in to how that is done but this limitation makes little sense. 1
ED Team NineLine Posted March 27, 2024 ED Team Posted March 27, 2024 We have a large project updating the INS/GPS for the F-16C first, that will then be rolled into other aircraft like the F/A-18C once complete. 8 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

That's what it says in the Legacy manual: - 5 nm should show the 250k:1 map - 10 nm should show the 500k:1 map - 20 or 40 nm should show the 2M:1 map - 80 and 160, no map. 2 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/

Ah, seems like an old limitation. If that is the case in the manual, so be it in game. Thanks for the lookup 2
