Basic new user query

Hi, looking into using  this as a useful tool to add to my normal missions, like being able to jump into a unit and act as JTAC for a buddy flying a helo etc.

I am testing it out with a simple mission, with a simple group of 2 tanks and 6 APC's following a basic path......first issue I had when I started and jumped into the lead vehicle, all the rest of the group stopped moving......so I jumped in another  and the vehicle I was in previously stopped and the others stayed stopped....I have clicke don them all and in the GUI box bottom left, they show as "not active" and if I try and alter the speed slider, it just goes back to zero.......WTF?

I thought you could just jump in and out of any vehicle and when finished they just carried on on their assigned path etc.....is this not the case?

In the manual I see you need to start the mission as a type of command role and all units placed must be able to be driven to be controlled....does this mean that unless you make and start a mission from scratch as a combined arms missions, that you wil be unable to to just "jump in" to a unit ? I mean, do you have to play combined arms only, or can you use the facility within a "normal" DCS Mission? Assuming of course you have previously made all the units driveable and set the role. Does doing this limit your functionality to fly an otherwise normal DCS mission, IE start, fly, carry out a mission and land in a conventional module?

Finally how does combined arms work alongside something like Olympus?

Make sure you activate the "autopilot" (default key is 'C' IIRC) again before leaving the vehicle. This will let the AI take control over the vehicle again.

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

If you add a commander role to the mission and set "player can drive" for the units you will be able to jump between units or give them commands - you can edit any mission that way. Remember you have 2 free weeks trial for any module in DCS standalone.

The unit waypoints are deleted when you jump into a vehicle.

The user would have to jump in first, engage the 'autopilot' mode, and then assign waypoints.
