Tomcatter87 Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 Hello there, once again, I experience constant crashes. Sometimes the game load gets stuck, mostly at "wait for pooled tasks" .Then again a mission starts, textures load (take a long time...) and then, after some seconds, a CTD. Sometimes I get the crash message later in a mission - and sometimes DCS still seems to run after that. I deactivated my mods, I deleted FXO and metashader folders - running out of tricks here. dcs.log "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. Atari800XL Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 When I started with DCS via STEAM in 2022 my logs looked like yours: missing this, error here, unknown someting... and crashes. Then I transfered my licenses from STEAM to the standalone-version und never had that mass of issues, problems and crashes again. Did you checked your local files using the STEAM-function? Tomcatter87 Posted April 11, 2024 Author Posted April 11, 2024 Yes, I checked them, Steam didn't find anything to repair. Now I even get bluescreens occasionally. Atari800XL Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 (edited) Holy <profanity>, sounds like a driver problem or corrupt corefile from windows. A usefull tool for this is the blue-screen-viewer: https://www.heise.de/download/product/bluescreenview-69335 How to check windows systemfiles: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e Good luck, hope you'll be back soon in your tomcat! Tomcatter87 Posted April 11, 2024 Author Posted April 11, 2024 Thanks a lot, I'll try that out. "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. For there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Check out my DCS content on Instagram
Atari800XL Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 And don't forget to check your complete RAM. I had this some years ago: brand new 1070 GTX inserted and bluescreen after bluescreen. First candidate was the 1070 but my RAM got damaged and had to be replaced. Tomcatter87 Posted April 12, 2024 Author Posted April 12, 2024 RAM seems okay, still DCS crashes after some seconds in each mission. Here's the newest log file. dcs.log "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. For there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Atari800XL Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Bad news but ok, I see there two options: 1. you contact the ED-support directly and prepare all needed logs (dxdiag) or 2. you dive deep into the windows eventviewer and search the crash-event, I think in the STEAM-Version it's also a DCS.exe-crash. This event should tell you exactly what + why (it) crashed and possibly gives you a hint how to solve this. I would send this details directly to the support If you're not familiar with the event viewer please read this: https://betterstack.com/community/guides/logging/how-to-view-and-analyze-logs-with-windows-event-viewer/ 1 DCS MT, all maps except channel, FC3, F-16C Viper, F-15E, F/A-18C, AH-64D, F-5E, F-4E, P-51D, Spitfire, Fw-190D, MiG-21bis, L-39, AJS-37 Supercarrier, WWII-AP, CA, TrackIR5, F/A-18-Stick + Thrustmaster 16000, Stream Deck 8x4, 2x MFD Cougar Ryzen9 5950X SMT off, 64GB RAM, RTX 4070 SUPER TI, UWQHD 3440x1440, Win11+DCS from separate M.2
Solution Tomcatter87 Posted April 15, 2024 Author Solution Posted April 15, 2024 Okay, I seem to have gotten rid of my crashes after opening up a ticket on the ED page. They suggested I should update my C ++ Visual Studio pack - so I did, and until now I did not have any CTDs and was able to fly a 2 hour mission yesterday. 2 "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward.
