ED Team Lord Vader Posted April 15, 2024 ED Team Posted April 15, 2024 Hello @vishkar I've deleted your email address in hopes to protect you from possible spam. What button are you talking about in the left panel? 1 Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
fortheiy12 Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Look behind the canopy jettison handle. I use it all the time when the landing gear doors rip off.
markom Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 OMG! Will this thing silence the HOME FPAS alert and BINGO as well?
fortheiy12 Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 I am not sure, probably not as those are kinda important than just your landing gear doors coming off, then again, that's also kinda expensive to replace, so who knows?
rob10 Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 2 hours ago, markom said: OMG! Will this thing silence the HOME FPAS alert and BINGO as well? Since it's the warning TONE silence I doubt it . Bingo is pretty easy though: set it to the bingo you want so you actually get the warning, then reset it to zero and it will shut up. As much as it can be annoying to have it every 30 secs now, it makes sense that it does that and I prefer the new behaviour. HOME FPAS is more complicated. 1
markom Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Home FPAS can be permanently killed by setting it to WP 58, but it's a brute-force approach.
vishkar Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 Dear and Respected All, thanks for your replies. I meant the warning after a hard landing - to be silenced. Some mention it as a button below APU StartStart Swich. I get hard landings because i find that the throttle response below 130-134 kts is slow and I tend to bash open the throttle. ( though I have done 500 odd landings, about 150 on carrier). But changing from Win 10 pro to 11 Pro & reinstalling DCS gives some problems. I'll try that button behind canopy Jettison handle as suggested by Figaro 9. Thanks a ton. 1. My Control settings have to be done again and again. 2. Is there a detailed explanation for all settings, eg Curvature, Invert, % . All parameters? 3. Do I need MTT option (multithreading?). It was not there before I changed from i5 - 6402 to i7-12900 CPU. Thank you all in advance from a 78 yr old learner.
vishkar Posted April 17, 2024 Author Posted April 17, 2024 On page 14 of KEYBOARD INPUTS list, the 8th line from the bottom reads Warning Tone Silence Button -Left Vertical panel and somebody answered Below APU Start Switch?. Not sure. I did many good landings ( Win 10 pro, 500 GB HDD, i5-6402k, GTX 1060. Now on Win 11 pro, i7-12900, SSD, 500 GB, RTX 3060) I read that the crew has to check the Landing Gear for any damage due HEAVY LANDING ( above Descent rate 750 ft/Min?)
vishkar Posted April 20, 2024 Author Posted April 20, 2024 About silencing the 'Warning Tone': In the drop-down menu on my PC, 'Warning tone Silence Button' was not shown at all. So when i put it to Search, I was allowed to add it. But I am still Not sure, how to get rid of it. I understand that the Ground Crew are supposed to check the Gear for damage and then OK it. I chose the ground crew option from ATC Stennis menu. I was told to shut down the engines which I did. What next? There is a way to change the a/c , so do I change it after every hard landing? can I assign a new keystroke to silence that U/C warning horn?
