zerO_crash Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 (edited) I have mentioned this a good couple of years ago, albeit not sure if it got picked up. With pilot body visible, even in VR with full range of motion, there are many panels (switches, buttons, etc...) that are neither visible, nor accessible. In essence, that means that one has to keep turning the body "on"/"off" all the time, to reach everything in the cockpit (some functions are more used than others). Would it be possible to create an option in the "game settings" or so, to have the mouse cursor have a circle around (15-20cm diameter) which, when hovering over any panels masked by pilot body, would simply make the pilot "see through"? I would really appreciate a function like this, or similar, especially for VR. Thanks! Edited April 25, 2024 by zerO_crash 7 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WolfK33 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Yeah, have also asked for this a couple of years back, just as you describe it. Like the flashlight. Even as a not VR-user this would be great. 1
Furiz Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 This was asked many times but ED loves to ignore it, it is really good idea to make the body transparent on mouse over, the body is in the way of some switches. Transparent radius could be the size of a flashlight at night.
Qcumber Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 I would like to see a pilot body which supports hand/arm tracking so that you can move "your" arms in real time as if you are the real pilot. 1 PC specs: 9800x3d - rtx5080 FE - 64GB RAM 6000MHz - 2Tb NVME - (for posts before March 2025: 5800x3d - rtx 4070) - VR headsets Quest Pro (Jan 2024-present; Pico 4 March 2023 - March 2024; Rift s June 2020- present). Tippis Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Oh yes, please! That and/or some kind of “interactable highlight” to indicate that you're mousing over some kind of control that might be hidden from the camera but which is actually fully accessible. That one would also help with some of the warbirds where you have controls hidden behind panels that should be easy to find… by touch. Which we don't have. The mouse cursor changing is a bit of a help, but that could be expanded so that the camera isn't the deciding factor in what can and can't be reached. 1 ❧ ❧ Inside you are two wolves. Click the radio dial and "phone home". But yes, some way of determining the action you are using through different colours, such as yellow for switch, red for rotate etc. Haptic feedback would be good long term.
