Pilotasso Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Oh hell ya! Are those missiles under the wings AAM-4's? .
topol-m Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) I think they are Sparrows, AAM-4s have shorter frontal fins. AAM-4: This is exactly, how you fly the F-2 ;).  Edited November 10, 2011 by topol-m [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ryyy Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Question. Is the T-4 a direct variant of the A-4 somehow? T-4 is made by Kawasaki and the A-4 Douglas if I'm not mistaken, but they seem very similar.
topol-m Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Never heard of it being developed from the A-4. AFAIK it's completely indigenous. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PeCa_Chuck Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 F-2A open cockpit in Hyakuri air base. 1
topol-m Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 ^^ Awesome! Thanks for posting! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sawamura Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Neat! Just found those on my abonents. Speaking of F-2. In Matsushima airbase, that got hit from the Tsunami around 9 month ago, 6 F-2 will be repaired. The other 12 are going to be "recycled".
mikoyan Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Are those strips on the f-15 wings reinforcements? I have a 1/48 scale model of the f-15e and that one doesn't have them; I haven't seen an f-15 on static display here; so I don't know if the American F-15 have those. Quite cool how neat and clean it looks.
PeCa_Chuck Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 ^^ Awesome! Thanks for posting! It's my pleasure. Are those strips on the f-15 wings reinforcements? Quite cool how neat and clean it looks. I searched by Japanese Google, but could not get any information about unknown stripes. The followings are some photos that taken in Hyakuri AB. I can see unknown stripes. The first one is same ship. [22-8940] ....and the following is taken in Komatsu AB. There are some stripes. Yes, we can see some number difference in above photos. I imagine that there is some possibility of difference between MSIP and Pre-MSIP ship.
topol-m Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 ^^ nice photos, the eagle is gorgeous :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

59th_LeFty Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Are those 600gal drop tanks on the F-2? [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
PeCa_Chuck Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 F-2A/B can carry a 300 gallon external fuel tank at under the fuselage.(It's the same of F-16) And 600 gal tanks are loaded at under the wing. AFAIK, JASDF does not have 370 gal tank for F-2. Here is the F-2A/B loadout map.

[ATTACH]59710[/ATTACH] In addition there is a program undergoing which goal is to upgrade the F-2's J/APG-1 AESA radar and avionics to allow the use of AAM-4 medium range air-to-air missiles. I don't know when is this program planned to be completed, it would probably require several years upgrade the whole F-2 fleet. Edited December 3, 2011 by topol-m [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
