This is something i learned from being advised by Zabuzard. I solved my problems by going low aspect and instructing Jester to look at the slice of sky that the AWACS is telling me the bogeys are in. He usually picks them up around 35 miles then drops the lock. He`ll pick them back up around the 25 mile mark and you can lock up through the context button. Jester will actually tell you when you have a good lock and the shoot cues will illuminate and stay on. Just maintain lock for the duration of the missiles flight and it`s then up to the defensive bfm of your enemy! Since i have learned this, my use of Sparrows is no longer complete misery.....just mostly

I always check target altitude (aspect switch on nose setting) to verify a good lock. False locks usually show 0000 altitude.
