Antix70 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 (edited) I've almost completely mapped everything, and using Voiceattack to control the AI pilot There's AI Pilot On, AI Pilot Off, and AI Pilot On/Off. Don't really need a toggle if using VA to say "Your aircraft"/"My aircraft", so the single command would be nice. AI Pilot On acts only as a toggle, AI Pilot off does nothing. Telling him to land does nothing if you are under way. Do I have to have him stop, hover, and then land? Should it be a combined command? Also what is the intended method to exit the orbit? I was able to exit by telling him to come to a heading, but there should be a keybind to just stop orbiting and take the current heading, maybe? Just the couple things I've found so far, and I've probably missed a few, haven't tested everything yet. Having lots of fun though! Edited June 8, 2024 by Antix70
monkie Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Be careful when setting up the AI key bindings because there is a set for both PILOT and COPILOT and if they are not the same there are issues. Sounds like you had the same issues as I had until I matched them up. Sager Laptop, i7-6700k 4.00GHz, 16GB RAM, GTX 980M, 1920x1080, TIR 5, Windows 10
Antix70 Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 I matched mine up, and now I can orbit left, other issues persist
monkie Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 See the topic in the main room, I think the discusion will be helpful there because at this point it's hard to say what is a bug and what is a feature since the AI system is kind of a mystery and wasn't covered in the manual. I was able to map a button to Autopilot on/off not sure which binding off hand but yes it's all a bit confusing. Sager Laptop, i7-6700k 4.00GHz, 16GB RAM, GTX 980M, 1920x1080, TIR 5, Windows 10
RealDCSpilot Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 AI Pilot Off does nothing. AI Pilot On does work like a toggle. 1 i9 13900K @5.5GHz, Z790 Gigabyte Aorus Master, RTX4090 Waterforce, 64 GB DDR5 @5600, PSVR2, Pico 4 Ultra, HOTAS & Rudder: all Virpil with Rhino FFB base made by VPforce, DCS: all modules
NoPro Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 There are more problems with the AI. If you’re in “follow flight plan or follow terrain” mode, you can’t revert to a heading or something. You need to deactivate and activate the AI so he’s back in “cruise” mode. Or did I miss something and there is a way to set the AI back in “cruise” mode without toggling it on & off?!
monkie Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 It's not covered in the manual so who knows what is a feature/bug or how it's supposed to be used at this point? Sager Laptop, i7-6700k 4.00GHz, 16GB RAM, GTX 980M, 1920x1080, TIR 5, Windows 10
GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 An optional command rose is needed too for those who don't use VA and are running out of buttons. You only need to set them up in Pilot configuration. As long as you didn't bind anything else there in Copilot configuration they will carry over. They did this to make it easier to set up controls for flying solo. 1
