Vekkinho Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Did you notice all the links from the first posts are dead by now :music_whistling: ?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 oh yeah. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45
Vekkinho Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I wonder why...:music_whistling: I guess it's soon to be classified! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RedTiger Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Do you have 5000 flight hours in fighters? Are you a former Top Gun instructor?:music_whistling: :smilewink: No, but I can fly the Su-27 in LOMAC under that really low bridge near Sevastopol. That has to count for something. 1
nscode Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 It counts as a starting point for suicide therapy :D 1 Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
59th_LeFty Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Well, call me envious! And they stole MY idea! :furious: And about 1000 people's idea in this forum:) [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
sniffer Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 And about 1000 people's idea in this forum:) Or 1000 people's dreams in this forum... ;-) 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RedTiger Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 There is an advantage into having someone else providing just about the most realistic OPFOR you can get. The pilots doing their exercises can then attempt intercepts on the actual aircraft they expect to be fighting, see what it looks like, what it flies like, etc. Taking a pilot who flies an F-15/16/18 and sticking him in a flanker is a waste of that pilot, whom you've trained to fly your aircraft. If you can instead pay someone else to fly a flanker for you, it works out. LOL...wow, here I thought it was just a hobby thing, like a vSquadron but instead using the big boy toys. :idiot: I never got a chance to read the link before it went 404. This is a really good idea though. No F-15s and F-16s with funny paint and big fuselage numbers, its the real deal, warts and all. And the aggressors come to YOU, not the other way around!!
Namenlos Ein Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 It seems that it is not just for fun...it's rather a private agressor squadron. http://www.tacticalairsupport.com/HOME.html The pilots http://www.tacticalairsupport.com/company_bios.html Site is 'Under construction'.
Vekkinho Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Yeah, all the info on those birds went offline! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
jojo Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Ok, by memory: - the 4 or 5 happy pilots have between 3000 and 5000 flight hours in jet fighters only (total climbs up to 6000 hrs) in USAF or USN (Top Gun instructors, former USAF Agressor and so on) - there is also an EW warfare operator having flown in Prowler, test flight in Strike Eagle and other fighters I dont remember... The "company" has over russians jets: L-29, Mig-17. They offer an agressor service and air warfare training and expertise in general. Mirage fanatic ! Majesco Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 what kind of Su-27 US has bought ? Are they Su-27UB ?
Vekkinho Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I believe they are since Ukraine has no Su-30 and this airframe is an older model judging by the countermeasure launchers... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
