koen330 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 I just updated to 2.9.6 In VR, the hand controllers work in the new launcher, but when the game starts, and I actually enter DCS, they are not working anymore. They are enabled in the settings, just as before. What am I missing? 1
koen330 Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 Discord is exploding with VR issues after the latest release.... I wonder if the controller issue is a Quest problem or if other brands are affected too?
Hempstead Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Same here, Quest Pro. Makes the game completely unplayable. 100% epic fail. The Oculus controller does not even show up on the Control Setting page as a column. Just completely non-existent. Edited July 12, 2024 by Hempstead 4
Space387 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 same issue for controllers only. Hand tracking works but not all aircraft support the hand interaction, heatblur.
TopoSolitario Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Same here, the funny things are: In Steam version controller is working but hand is rotated 90º BUT... ... the hand I see is the black leather one from many updates in the past, not the nomex gloves one, so probably they compiled some very old code. In MT controllers are missing, not transparent, just missing, no hands no interaction, and tested with both Oculus and Steam VR In MT the cursor is Green/Yellow again! XDDD but without controllers Support answer was to go back to previous version, I don't think that's even possible in steam. Edited July 12, 2024 by TopoSolitario 1
NIGHTHAWK1 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 same problem here Quest 2 I-9 12900K, RTX 3090, 64 GB, 2TB SSD, Oculus Quest 2, Win 11, Winwing Orion F-16EX Stick, F-18 dual throttle, Thrustmaster TPR pedals.
Zap921 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 RiftS no controllers in MT. Work without MT but black gloves and hands point 90* off.
Baron210 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Halp Same problem Sorry to say but I think (in the theory of things) that my Pilot got caught in some bar in the dodgy part of Georgia and tortured, hence lost his nice., olive drab and grey gloves that pointed the right way. after the torture (plus some dodgy Vodkas) - he can only do a 90 degree hand. Phew in one way I'm pleased I'm sure there will be alots of background noise on this one, but in another, I just want my nice hands back Please fix it ED. I did play nice and buy the full FC3 2024 (in Steam), because I only had the non steam and it wasnt registering like before when i made the melted together version (Old and Steam), this seems to no longer work with the new launcher either. I used to have hands / gloves as below. see SS (Quest three BTW). Might be worth trying an open beta registration version in Steam to play one version before if Possible? not sure if can roll back. I will do a little research on it. Please fix it ED. Edited July 12, 2024 by Baron210
Montesco Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Same here. Quest 3. Maybe they should have postponed a little more, after all...
dreyou Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) Same thing happened to me. Quest 3. Reverted back to 2.9.5.55918. Edited July 13, 2024 by dreyou Transire benefaciendo
stuart4544 Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Same here. Interesting that they are not showing as a controller in the Controller Set up screen. I thought it might be a tick box that had been changed by the update (my IPD box had become un-ticked!) but like i said if they are not showing in the controller set up screen, looks like DCS is now not recognizing them at all. Back to MSFS again until the next update
soullessrat5 Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 I have the controller not appearing issue with the valve index controllers. Hoping a fix comes out soon.
TopoSolitario Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 13 hours ago, Baron210 said: That's the thing, before the update, in MT the controllers are shown as the nomex gloves in your screenshot. But now, in MT they don't show/work at all, in ST they are shown, but with the old black leather gloves, and 90º misaligned... it's like they've put an older implementation of the hand tracking in the new version...
TFS Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Same, adding for ED visibility. Several of my friends, samed issue... I'm on Q3, gthey have Q2, QP.
Zap921 Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 If I remember correctly, right now in MT when I pull up Options in the Apache, I don't have the VR tab even showing to make any adjustments and my mouse doesn't work. There is a selector spot visible that tracks with my head but hitting the enter button on keyboard does nothing to select an item. I'll check again this weekend.
Tavilha Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Same issue on Quest3. If I use controllers in the VR options, they simply disappear. Furthermore, they used to be detected as Oculus Touch in the controls configuration page and now they're gone. If I switch to hand trackers, they show up and work as before. It's still unusable though, so the controllers must be fixed ASAP... 1
mosshunt Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 same here Q2, no hands visible, no controller detected, and the cursor tracks with the headset making the mouse hard to use
TFS Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 To add to this, I use my controllers to use the oculus menu to view my desktop, like alt tab for screen users... when doing this DCS throws an absolute fit. This is how I change voice attack profiles, or move in discord etc. I'm assuming this is the same cause and issue.
Draken35 Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 FYI/A... An user by the name of "**Freelancer** Jaghammer" in discord, suggested using Virtual Desktop with VDXR as the OpenXR runtime. It works!
sLYFa Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 I guess Link-Cable users like me are out of luck then i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
TheConqueror Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 No problem with Virtual Desktop App.... But Another problem happened. It detects my head movements on the monitor, but the game appears frozen in VR.
ghawkgu Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 I'm using Quest 3 + VD. If I choose SteamVR in VD as the default OpenXR runtime, in DCS there's no hand controller. When I switched to VDXR, hand controllers will worked as usual.
