Smashy Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) When using the mouse for anything in a 3D context (in game, ME loadout page, encyclopedia), I notice that frame rate will tank to about 30% of normal with huge spikes in frame time. For anyone curious, try this. Hop into the game, open the in-game FPS counter and move the mouse around. If it's not happening to anyone else, maybe it's me. The only change to my system or DCS was today's patch. I can try to capture a video if needed, I don't think a trackfile will capture the problem. Edit - it happens all the time, not just when 3D elements are on the screen. For example, frame rate and frame time spikes occur with mouse movement on the main menu; it's not noticeable to the eye. Grindmetal Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) yeh circular Movement mouse game STOP FPS here hahahaha Edited July 12 by Grindmetal 2
Gunnar81 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) Same is happening with me when I use mouse look which is a lot. This is just since this last update in case any of the admin are looking at this. As a bit of extra info, it only seems to be related to mouse movement for looking around the cockpit. I can leave the mouse alone and use the numlock pad and its smooth as it should be. jackill Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Same. It spikes frame time like crazy. Hovered if you are veeeery slow with this movement, then fps is fine. Zoom in with mouse wheel does not have this issue.
amadeus Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Also wanted to chime in and mention I am having the same problem listed here. Mouse movements appear to drastically hurt FPS
Ramses823 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I'm having the same issue as well since the update. If I'm flying and I move the mouse around it makes the game stutter massively.. 1
onib89 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Same here .. huge spikes lag when using mouse after yesterday's update
Ramses823 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Yea this is a very annoying issue but I get it with new features comes new bugs, but a fix for this definitely needs to be a priority...
Gryzor Posted July 12 Posted July 12 +1 I have those mouse spikes specially in menus. Constant spikes during mouse movements.
jackill Posted July 12 Posted July 12 @Grindmetal Thank you - changing polling rate from 1000 Hz to 500 Hz did the trick Very strange bug, even in menu moving the mouse caused frametime spikes. 1
Smashy Posted July 12 Author Posted July 12 Good find @Grindmetal. Bumping from 1000Hz to 500Hz worked for me too. 1
onib89 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I've changed polling rate from 4000 to 1000 and it fixed! Razer basilisk v3 pro

Willdass Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Same issue here, will test the solution tomorrrow. Thanks for the find. How is this even possible? It's getting comical at this point, having to change mouse settings in order to have a playable experience, wtf. 4 https://www.youtube.com/@Willdass Setup: VPC Warbrd with TM F/A-18 stick on 10cm extension, Realsimulator FSSB-R3 MK II Ultra with F16SGRH grip, Winwing Super Taurus throttle, SimGears F-16 ICP, Winwing Combat and Take Off Panels, TM TPR Pendular Rudders, 3x TM Cougar MFD's, Simshaker Jetpad, Wacom Intuos S for OpenKneeboard. normanleto Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Same here. Funny thing I've changed my steel series mouse for my simpler logitech one my wife is using. The problem is gone. However, in my steelseries Rival mouse, even lowering the polling rate to 125 did not solve the problem. So I am using my wife's mouse rn, waiting for solution. Best, nl ...10 years with dcs...
Gryzor Posted July 14 Posted July 14 How I can select polling rate? I´m on logitech 502. Only windows default drivers.

KeterSCP Posted July 17 Posted July 17 +1 Comment marked as solution is only a workaround, and proper fix is required 1
