Mkoolen89 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 I just downloaded and installed the new CH-47F. I could do a startup but I ran into some issues. 1: I put the Eaps to on but the EAPS fail stayed on for both on the WCA. No matter what I tried! 2: After the startup was complete I wanted to take off. Being in the air I got a very unstable A/C and it looked like uncontrolled input. Since the AFCS was on both it should be stable in the air. 3: After playing for a while the screen suddenly went to black. When I turned the cam a bit it came back. That wasn't workable. Also when I pressed F2 and turned around the screen switched from entire black to visible and back to black. Had to shutdown the game with CTRL+ALT+DELETE. It became unresponsive

LuseKofte Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 (edited) Find it hard to keep om stable flight. I find Huey more stable than this. I know nothing about chinook but expected a more stable forward flight. Hoovering is sort of ok. But cannot maintain stable altitude and pattern. I guess I need to fly it more to properly give it a judgement. But I was proven wrong calling it a stable drone Edited August 10, 2024 by LuseKofte

I'm an operator in a Chinook sim and that's a copy of the real A/C. So startup and setup is no problem. The issue is with this one. They have to update it. 3
Outlaw24 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Stable flight is also impossible in the current state of this chopper, no matter what I try. Nealius Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Stable level flight seems to require more trim taps than the Huey does. The nose attitude likes to wander up or down, and if you don't catch it immediately with a trim correction, it will run away from you. There's also a weird spot right about where I guess ground effect would start, or perhaps just prior, where sink rate suddenly accelerates. 2

I haven't flow this one, but I'm sure the flight model needs to be adjusted. Too many "N/I" or "WIP" to waste time on it, so it stays in the hangar until further improvements. But on straight level flights it doesn't requiere any pedals. Especially when it's trimmed. So maybe it doesn't even trim the right way

Yeah I’ve noticed the sink rate increase when you should be hitting ground effect, there’s been a similar oddity with the gazelle since it’s refresh as well but not quite as strong.

Mkoolen89 Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 ED asked me to post my bugs and problems here so that's why it's here. But the basic trim is not working that great either I read on other posts. Although the AFCS off means your flying like a pregnant goose..

TP_Silk Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 (edited) I have an odd bug whereby the controls and inputs work fine in tutorials and free-flight, but not in public servers. All that seems to work in public servers are the toe brakes for some mysterious reason EDIT: I'm going to reinstall tomorrow and ensure that I totally clear all the categories when setting up controls this next time. Edited August 17, 2024 by TP_Silk Additional information

Tutorials and missions are quite stable, but when I start the beast online, it's very jumpy after take off and almost unable to fly normal.
