I was flying a night mission 2 days ago and a 47 was  illuminating me with the searchlight , IDK how he made it work but it was working for him.

Yes, it works.

If you are in the pilot position you need to make sure on the Pilot Light Panel it is set to On, so the controls on the thrust handle will work. Make sure it says Pilot Control, there is one for Co-pilot control as well.

Then on the Thrust handle you can map Searchlight On/Off and the position.

Will there be real IR light in the future? If i choose IR on the searchlightmode switch it will go from white to red light. 
 

Would be nice to fly under IR lighting under nvg’s.
