Ddg1500 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Hello, in gs server for example, awg 9 could been seriously jammed at long distance by a f16 carring jammer pod, posing significant harm the locking of the target, the display on the DDD is full of noise and cannot be effectively discerned by rio, making locking impossible, and there is plenty of vicious jammer in gs server, giving a lot of hard time to f14
Dragon1-1 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 AWG-9 is an older radar set, no wonder modern jamming pods can make problems for it. It's powerful and has a long range, but it can't filter out jamming as effectively as radars with full digital electronics. 1

Spurts Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 if you have a wingman on Link 4 you can see each others jamming lines and fire home on jam using the triangulated distance 2

That’s why it was invented. Get closer and burn through. Welcome to Electronic Countermeasures, and Electronic Counter-Countermeasures. 2
Katsu Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Not only there is no radar jamming resistance or a suitable burn through modeled for AWG-9 also there is no Chaff resistance on missile, like on this case: vc 1700 +, but missile choose chaffs instead a 1700+ closure target. sometimes it's quite annoying trying to do a mission with basic things not working. “Oh, it's an old missile” I believe that pulse doppler filtering is widely documented in the an/dsq-26 (Phoenix seeker) the missile not knowing that a target coming in at this closure its a real target it's a pretty bad excuse for a weak modeling
Spurts Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 CMs in DCS are a % chance. They are not actual objects to effect doppler gates or anything.

RustBelt Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 I mean now your in a whole other realm of building a completely different sim. Either as a 3.0 or a totally other product.
