Well, what's yours, mine is this:

First of all, this is a true story, it actually happened. It was the last day of english class in my college composition course, and I had to do an oral presentation. Well, I was supposed to bring one visual example for my presentation. Earlier, someone had done a presentation on the dangers of video game addiction, little did the presenter know that things were about to turn to irony. Even before my presentation, during the video game addiction presentation, I realized the irony of the situation, and I had a nice big smirk on my face. So I have the last presentation, because I have to unplug the projector from the teachers computer and plug it in my laptop. Well, after getting all set up during the break, I started the presentation. It was on flight simulation, and guess what my visual aid was.... I literally booted Black Shark on my laptop and started demonstrating it using the instant action mission while giving my oral presentation, trying to show visually the complexity a real flight sim can have (sorry ace combat junkies, you don't get to call yourselves real flight simmers....). Anyway, sparing some details, I gave the presentation, talking while flying DCS in front of the whole class.

Well, what's your most hilarious moment with DCS.

Hum.. not as clever, but I intentionnally missed a couple calls on the phone, because I did not want to hit "pause" and mess up my perfect mission.

My most funny situation was ingame when I was hovering over a city, I read the manual and didn't notice I was loosing height. After some seconds I finnaly noticed that I am falling. It was too late i crashed on the ground and the KA-50 startet burning. It stood crooked and my last chance was the ejection but it directly shot me into a building and I was instantly dead ^^

Was very funny :D

LOL. Sounds like Eastern Airlines Flight 401. "What's this do? What's that do - oh %*!"

I did something SIMILAR although it was WAY before DCS's time. Grade 11 physics ISU was on helicopter flight. Apart from all the clunky math and oral bit, I had brought my computer and joystrick to allow people to put the theory of helicopter flight to practice. Mind you it was Digital Integration's HIND (full realism settings if that says anything) but it displayed the heavy torque effect of the hind as well as collective and cyclic use.

It impressed my teachers then, i'm sure having BS there really added to your presentation!

What grade did you get for your presentation?

I think I got a B on it because I didn't have an outline for the oral presentation (I like to just do it off the top of my head.)

Well, for me, nothing "funny" has happend... But i find it funny that on pretty much half of all the Black Shark movies posted on youtube (from DCS black shark of course), both my own, and others, people still ask "what is this game called???", when the name of the sim is stated both in the movie at the credits, and at the comments from the uploader. :P

Blame it on the new generation super short attention span and impulsive behaviour.

no no no....

BLAME CANADA :P

Seriously though, the stupidity of people sometimes surprises me. If anything else, those who ask that question in that situation probably aren't the kind of people we want flying with us in DCS.

Well, after my first succesful landing(sort of, I still blew a tire), I decided to celebrate by ejecting, the ejection went well, I got out in one piece, but I landed INTO the static Mi-24 beside my chopper and got stuck IN it!

The ascending beeps when you power the throttle up to auto during startup instantly reminded me of Buford T. Justis' wristwatch in 'Smokey and the bandit 2'. Now whenever I hear it I chuckle and go "ooooohmmmm...oooohmmmmm"

I was engaging a trio of T-72 tanks. I killed one and locked up the second one. As I was swinging the Vikhr reticle onto it, I saw this mysterious flash cover up the tank.

"Hey, I haven't fired yet. What's-"

BOOM!!

And that, kids, is how I discovered the tanks can shoot back. :)

I always find those moments really tense - even when I'm maneuvering and I know there's a very small chance of them actually hitting, there's just enough delay between seeing the flash and the projectile actually reaching you to allow you to get really tense.

Last night I played the South Osetian Pirates mission, mostly as a test of my settings (haven't finished reconfiguring everything since I got a new PC). After all that flying I was very low on fuel and wanted to find something to shoot at before I reached 'bingo' so I was getting a bit reckless. Went over a mountain and there they were -- shooting at me before I'd even gotten over the top!

It's been a week or so since I've played and it's amazing how quickly you lose the reflexes. I dove toward them and was struggling to remember what I had to do to fire the cannon. I eventually got it and managed to put a few rounds near the bad guys, but they put a few rounds in me. So all that flying and then a few seconds of great excitement, followed by complete failure. If I didn't laugh, I'd cry. :)
