Reading the forum is actually physically painful. Let's let go of the light and join the dark side! It's been needing this for a decade. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's asked for this. I don't know where else to drop this request so here ya go.

Ah I see (painfully). Move this to customer support > site issues (for my sight issues).

This is my most boomer aspect. I don't like dark mode. Having grown up with Internet message boards. I've grown accustomed to old school light mode.

I think I read somewhere, that classic black text on a bright background is actually easier on the eyes. Dunno. However, getting blasted in the face in the evening or at night by a bright screen is really uncomfortable to me, so I do prefer dark mode as well.

I was so sure you where way too young to be a boomer.

I use dark mode on my cell, as I use darkmode for pretty much everything there, and not on my computer. One bad thing about darkmode, in like all apps. If you copy/paste text, the colour could be messed up for the light users.
Cheers!

I see. Makes sense. I wish "paste as plain text" would be default. Haven't tried lately, but if one pastes screenshots or other pictures, and chose "plain text", (small little message "box" that comes up over the files section). I never get the "null" thing, and no issues with text disappearing and all the pictures are messed up. It was like this for a short while, I believe last year. The the forum was updated and back to old pranks.

Never seen the option buried down there. No other forum I’m on puts it there. I looked for it in forum settings and when I didn’t see I assumed it wasn’t there. Thanks.

And I don’t come here very often.

When I say that the bright white screen is painful I meant it. It’s physically painful and when I lower the screen brightness the text is illegible.

Some browsers have extensions such as "Darkreader", which darkens pages. The application options allow you to activate/deactivate it depending on the sites you're interested in.

The problem with most extensions is that they tend to invert image colors and render website controls invisible or unusable, so I avoid them and wait for web designers, app designers, etc. to get on trend.
