Archangel44 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Like the title says. After dozens of 2,000 bombs dropped on the Big one in Giza, it still stands. I was creating a mission that would start a war by leveling one of the 7 wonders of the world. If possible, please allow the pyramids to become a parking lot after being bombed/shelled/ A10’d, etc. Thank you, 1 F-4E, F-5E-3, F-14, F-15E, F-16C, FA18-C, F-86, A-10C, Spitfire, AJS-37, KA50, MiG-19, L-39, P-51, Flaming Cliffs, All maps, WWII Assets, Combined Arms, Super Carrier.
Solution MAXsenna Posted October 20, 2024 Solution Posted October 20, 2024 You naughty boy! Are you aware of the fine you'll be dealt destroying parts of the Seven Wonders of the World?Anyway, it's not a bug. They don't have a collision/destruction model. Make a wish in the Wishlist thread.Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1
Archangel44 Posted October 20, 2024 Author Posted October 20, 2024 Just a quick note. This is hit and miss on a few maps. In Nevada, I tried to bust the Hoover Dam open…Nope. Just for grins and giggles there in Las Vegas, the Trump Hotel won’t go down either, however, on the Persian Gulf map, that really tall hotel, yea… it comes down with 3 B-52’s loaded with 2,000 pounders. Call me morbid, but yea, it’s funny as hell. 2 F-4E, F-5E-3, F-14, F-15E, F-16C, FA18-C, F-86, A-10C, Spitfire, AJS-37, KA50, MiG-19, L-39, P-51, Flaming Cliffs, All maps, WWII Assets, Combined Arms, Super Carrier.

Archangel44 Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 (edited) This is what I did, I took 3 B-52’s in a trail formation about 1/2 mile spacing, 5,000 feet altitude, loaded up only the bays with 2,000 iron bombs, set each one to carpet bomb with short spacing of the bombs, set the target impact at the base of the hotel and let em rip. You will enjoy watching the bombs impact from the bottom of the structure all the way to the top. Have fun, Edited October 21, 2024 by Archangel44 1 1 F-4E, F-5E-3, F-14, F-15E, F-16C, FA18-C, F-86, A-10C, Spitfire, AJS-37, KA50, MiG-19, L-39, P-51, Flaming Cliffs, All maps, WWII Assets, Combined Arms, Super Carrier.

Archangel44 Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 I would, but my computer is old and the video/track would have frames in the lower digits. This may be a silly question, but considering that the pyramids are solid (not hollow), made from some 5 million tons of limestones and some 5000+ tons of Granite, why would some puny 2k iron bombs even put a dent into them? Those things were built to last. 3K+ years of humans couldn't put a dent in them... So even if ORT put some collision detection and damage modelling into them, I don't think that realistically, mere bombs that are dropped from above could damage them all that much. They did quite large openings with manual tools and black powder hundreds of years ago. It doesn't differ much from concrete so it should be treated like one - if used with penetration bombs/fuses it'd break easily. Now as a tomb it's probably treated like other religious places and will not have damage model in DCS. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Rift S T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

WarbossPetross Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 BTW, I don't have the map installed right now so I wonder if someone can check if the Khufu and Khafre pyramids are aligned. Because IRL their NE and SW corners are set along the same line so that the Old Ones can find their parking spot. 1
