Just got my Flanker Grip - and I'm really impressed. The wait was absolutely worth it. Buttons are very tactile, the grip feels heavy but is surprisingly light weight. The brake handle has a stop function to hold it in braking position - I was not aware of this, when I ordered the grip. This is great in the HIP and the HIND, but this also makes warming up the engine of a spitfire really easy. I have to say, this may be my favorite feature so far. Enough writing, back to flying.
Cheers, Flo

Wow, what an amazing surprise, I was not aware of that either. Do you mind describing the stop function a little? Is it magnetic, or does it somehow click in and out of rotation?

well... I'm not sure, what happened or if it was really intended. The holding the "holding-the-brake-lever-feature" stopped working. Now it works just like a regular brake lever but smoother and needs a little more force than other grips. Maybe my unexpected feature was just some malfunction or a left over metal shaving or something strange. I will contact virpil support the clarify the intended function of the brake lever. Still no info on the virpil website or the official forum. Looks kind of weird, but worked really well as long as it did. As I was not expecting this feature, not a big loss, but still kind of sad about it. I will let you know, as soon as I got an answer from virpil.

Back to your original question - it did klick into place after a noticeable resistance and it needed a little push to unlock it.

It seems that Virpil encountered some quality assurance problems, hence their delaying for the first batches of new series. Better delayed and fixed, than on time and flawed, I guess... Gotta aim for March.

iv just got mine, no spare switches to swap, are they supposed to come with it? if not how do i get them?

It's not swappable switches - the hat switches are all 4-way plus push but there are swappable hats that limit or don't the functions. These are supposed to be included.

I'm still waiting for mine.

Mine will be here tomorrow so expect pics of the inside over the weekend (because I suffer from a compulsion to take things apart)

Hi. I have an question on you and the FLNKR grip. When you move the flip trigger up or down, is the "button" pressed in some position? Or is that pulse only?

I can see the upper position is sensed by IR sensor. Could be this sensor be miscalibrated?
