Gil80 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 I have Warthog HOTAS + Cougar MFDs and every week or so, I have to rebind many keys. Has anyone experienced that?
TKhaos Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 I have, sometimes after a patch and sometimes randomly so just keep a back up of the Saved Games folder, could just back up the Input/Config folder but I saved my settings per aircraft in the InputUserProfiles folder as well so could do that as well if you save settings manually. I actually back up the entire Saved Games folder, whith the acception of Mods. I can't remember the name but many people use a small program to handle keybindings so they aren't lost during patch updates, I'm sure someone will post the name of it. 1

Has anyone experienced that? even when the DCS keybinds seem to be gone, sometimes (btw. every time I saw them gone) they are still there as a file with the old ID in its name. Only the USB ID of your input device may have changed. here is a thread with some answers and the solution for those cases: 2

What I found to be common among losing keybinds, is that it mostly happens with keybinds that have a modifier in them. 2

I noticed that as well, quite often when it did happen the default controls would work but nothing that was bound using a modifier. 1
Tom Kazansky Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 interesting. in the case of lost keybinds with modifiers, is the "modifiers.lua" file still there and does it show some odd entries (i.e. do the ID's in the modifier.lua fit to the ID's of the input devices? (path e.g. C:\Users\{username}\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\modifiers.lua ["JOY_BTN4"] = { ["device"] = "LEFT VPC Throttle MT-50CM3 {D74506E0-DD2F-11ed-8004-444553540000}", ["key"] = "JOY_BTN4", ["switch"] = false, matches: C:\Users\{username}\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\joystick\LEFT VPC Throttle MT-50CM3 {D74506E0-DD2F-11ed-8004-444553540000}.diff ) 1
Devrim Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 For a test or working on any mod or something, sometimes I run DCS without any HOTAS connected. Later, when I run DCS with my HOTAS, I see that DCS doesn't recall the modifier. I have to set modifier again. (Edit:) next time, could you please check whether the modifiers.lua of that module shows any entries (odd or correct ones as I described in my last post above yours)? Has anyone experienced that? i use a utility called DCS Update Witching Utility by Bailey (DCS v2.7.7.15038). there are several buttons that backup inputs and configs as a zip. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315428/ it works with the latest DCS version. sleighzy Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Random question, do you use the clickable cockpit mod? AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

But our friend Quaggles fixed in less than an hour last time! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

You thinking about Quaggles? oh, I wasn't aware of such mod. I thought that by clickable, it means all the buttons are clickable in the cockpit. 1

Yeah, that's what I thought. Pretty sure you can rule it out if you've never heard of it though! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
Gil80 Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Anyway, I still get this issue. Even when I stopped launching the game while my HOTAS is disconnected. I keep losing keybinds to FLIR and LTD/R for example on the F18.
