Skywall23 Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 It would be interesting to have additional airportt, military and civilian vehicles. ;) Hey pal, if you are a 3D modeller, could you create the Main Battle Tank of the British? The name of its Challenger. But if you arent a 3D moddeler, maybe others are....hmmm Another pic, but this one is too big so Ill just post the link: Pic2
Abanamat Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I'd say helicopters are more of a priority here than tanks.. for now
cmeliak Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 4 me, there is no priority for 4 helis. i have wonderfull KA50 Hokum at home in 3ds. it is not my work, i don't now where is it from anymore. is very nice detailed model. if anybody interested, send me a message. Challenger looks very nice, should be able to do it in a 3d. any blueprints?sketches? I will be able to start from the 1st of May, I'll recieve my 3ds license. One link additionally: http://dmi.chez.tiscali.fr/modelsvehicle1.html very nice models .... easy to convert into 3ds, but i#m not sure about licensing Steel Hotas Warthog + Hoffmans F16 rudders, Oculus Rift S, EVGA RTX3090, Core i7 4790K Hangar: Ka50, A10C, A10A, A10CII, SU27, SU33, SU25, Av8BNA, Bf109K4, F16C, F86, FA18C, FW190D9, i-16, L39C, Mi8, MiG15, MiG19P, MiG21, P51D, Spitfire, SuperCarrier, Yak52, P47, F14, Mi24P, Me262? cmeliak Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 Challenger OK, I'll have a look on it .., but now ... :icon_jook ... have a nice sunday evening Steel Hotas Warthog + Hoffmans F16 rudders, Oculus Rift S, EVGA RTX3090, Core i7 4790K Hangar: Ka50, A10C, A10A, A10CII, SU27, SU33, SU25, Av8BNA, Bf109K4, F16C, F86, FA18C, FW190D9, i-16, L39C, Mi8, MiG15, MiG19P, MiG21, P51D, Spitfire, SuperCarrier, Yak52, P47, F14, Mi24P, Me262? Sky Eagle Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Am learning 3Dmax. I got it a week ago. I modelt a dresser. But am gonna start now on the texture. Its was made with a tutorial :) Here's a heads up ;) Is it very hard too a model a car ? Cause i really wanna update the civilain cars. They don't look very good. Any people maybe got some names of cars of the 80's ,90's ??? And how can i see how many polygons i have ? Allso whats the polygon limit on it ? And what about the size ? Grtz Eagle
cmeliak Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 wonderful case, but I hope you don't like to fly it  regarding "is it easy? .... " well, it is easy if you know how2, but on the other hand it is very exciting if you don't know how 2 and you attain it. Have a look on the tutorials regarding "editable mesh". Allochtoon Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Buy or loan a good 3dsmax book at your local library, you should look online for polymodelling tutorials, other techniques are also possible. http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=21263

cmeliak Posted April 6, 2005 Author Posted April 6, 2005 I would say your A10 is may be too large? :) no iI would say they are a good aproximation to reality. Very simple meshes but clever textured for a good effect. Strategy is to have as less polygons as needed to get a good performance. It is clear. A good car model need less polygons, textures makes the rest. SUBS17 Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I'd say helicopters are more of a priority here than tanks.. for now Nope, you got it wrong way around. Ka50 Sim= tanks are more important. We need some eye candy to blow up. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]

cmeliak Posted April 6, 2005 Author Posted April 6, 2005 i guess it depends on the field of view (FOV) setup a little bit. you can make a lot of optical illusions only using FOV...., but would be interesting to have some photos A10 vs. rtw vehicles :) Steel Hotas Warthog + Hoffmans F16 rudders, Oculus Rift S, EVGA RTX3090, Core i7 4790K Hangar: Ka50, A10C, A10A, A10CII, SU27, SU33, SU25, Av8BNA, Bf109K4, F16C, F86, FA18C, FW190D9, i-16, L39C, Mi8, MiG15, MiG19P, MiG21, P51D, Spitfire, SuperCarrier, Yak52, P47, F14, Mi24P, Me262? D-Scythe Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Actually, the Chaparell is all bark and no bite. The 4 missiles you see are early model AIM-9 Sidewinders, rear-aspect missiles. Chaparell was phased out in the early 80s, I think. In any case, the Avenger is a far more potent defense system. For a new NATO short range SAM, I think I would go for the Canadian ADATS: The 10 km, Mach 3, 30+ G capable missile is immune to chaff and flares, since it is guided by laser. With an in service date 1988, it fits snugly into the Lock On universe. Or the French Crotale would be nice:
ED Team Chizh Posted April 7, 2005 ED Team Posted April 7, 2005 Looks good. Anybody can do 3D model any of those vehicles with missiles? Единственный урок, который можно извлечь из истории, состоит в том, что люди не извлекают из истории никаких уроков. (С) Джордж Бернард Шоу

Allochtoon Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 For tanks use boxs and cilinders. Just try and find out.
