draconus Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I'm seeing floating hold-back bars and light wands held in hands of the crew. The models are not stationary in their hands. The minimum movement is more visible the farther we are from the crew. This is true for both 2D and VR. Flappie Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Hey draconus. I tried your track but could not see the issue. I then took control over it, zoomed in, zoomed out, but I don't see any issue with bars and wands. Can you post a short movie clip, please? ---
draconus Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 I can no longer see it in 2D but it's still very noticable in VR. I'll try to catch it in the video. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
draconus Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 Best to watch the guy with a bar on the right. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Flappie Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I don't see the issue in your video. The guy on the left holds the towbar in his right hand. The guy on the right holds the towbar in his left hand. Happy new year, by the way! ---
draconus Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 Happy new year! You'll have to focus on how the bar is held. It seems disconnected from the hand movements and constantly on the move. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
waterman Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Its a little distracting if your looking for it. I have seen this type of thing "dare i say" on the frame by frame connecting rod animation on wheels of DCS Steam Locomotives. So maybe - The baton looks like it is "manually" placed frame by frame to match his arm position so any slight position error shows up. Ideally an armature for the Man with a connected bone for the arm and connected bone for the baton would be used to get a smooth movement but maybe they cannot use this method. Maybe just use your imagination and its a cold day and they are shivering ! Edited January 1 by waterman
draconus Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 Looks like it's DLAA doing it in VR. No such effect with MSAA. I don't know if devs can do anything about it. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
