scorpion80 Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 As stated in the title, when I fly with the Ch, after the latest patch, I have a FPS drop, big fps drop. I also tried to take Uh1, Oh58, AH-64, Ka-50, but everything goes smoothly. When I take the Ch I fly with a maximum of 12 fps. The system is composed of a 5800X3D, a 3080TI and 64 gb of ram. What broke with the Ch in the latest patch? 1 [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic62322_8.gif[/sIGPIC]
LuseKofte Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Online or offline? I noticed a drop when a lot of things happen in Rotorhead server. I will take the hook up for a ride to test now at this second and see
LuseKofte Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 I did test. And found no noticeable difference in my end. I have a 3080 gpu
scorpion80 Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Was online... In the same situation i took the Uh and was really smoothy... [sIGPIC]https://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic62322_8.gif[/sIGPIC]
LuseKofte Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Well I know the cockpit itself is a bit demanding, you might tune down your settings more when flying chinook. I have them tuned lower than needbe on lighter aircraft
dmatt76 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I have the same. stable 45 fps in every module but in Chinook it drops to 25-30, no more. It was much better before the patch.

Mr_sukebe Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I found that dropping (internal) Textures to Medium helped a lot. My assumption is that the snazzy new 4k textures are overflowing the VRAM on my 3080ti. I have to say, that I don't feel short changed by the Medium textures. Give it a try and see what you think. 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

Give it a try and see what you think. 4K textures are demanding for sure, the team are aware and we have a report open. But the OP had mentioned he had seen a drop in FPS between this latest patch and there has been no change to the 4k textures. If it was higher before and is lower now we should investigate it. But we do need to see the dcs and dxdiag to try and diagnose. thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? I have my textures set to medium because of the Apache. That was the first module which couldn't handle the high textures in VR with my setup, it was unplayable in Quest 2 - 5 fps and glitches all over. I changed to medium and it is back to butter smooth. F-16 and F/A-18 works great on high settings. Now Chinook can not handle medium textures - luckily not 5 fps, just 25, but still - I remember when it launched it was much better.

av8orDave Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Just picked up the Chinook for the first time in a bit. Before flying the Chinook, I was flying both the F-16 and the AH-64 with a rock-solid 72fps. With the Chinook in Nevada, my FPS was suddenly a 36 - 42 fps stuttery mess. System is a Ryzen 9 7950X, 4090, 64GB DDR5, on an SSD, Win 11 Pro. I'm not running any mods, totally clean install.
