Hi,

it seems to be a false positive being flagged by antivirus.

You can submit the file to your provider or add DCS folder to the exclusion and run a DCS repair.

thank you

nullHi,

I've lost authorization to my F-4E.
System time is set correct, i already did the cleanup - logout - login procedure.
Validation/repair of game files also didn't help.

Could it be there's a server issue with DCS or heatblur ?!?

Regards buzzer

FYI the "authorization" message is send by DCS because it detects that you are attempting to launch with an incomplete or modified module - since you are missing one of the Phantoms DLL files that your Antivirus software deleted/quarantined.

To fix the issue, you need to tell your AV to trust the file (or for simplicity the entire DCS install folder, if you want) and then make sure the file is restored.
Latter can also be achieved by running a DCS repair (or Steam File Integrity Check) :)

Same here. DCS was fine prior to last update. I'm now trying a rename of Saved Games and a full repair.

I have posted more info here:

Nope, didn't work. Sooo freakin frustrating!

Can somebody with a working DCS post the "HeatblurJester.dll" file? Maybe a manual install will work for the time being. I was right in the middle of a major F-4 skin project.

@Zabuzard @IronMike Guys, I think Heatblur has the highest quality modules in DCS and I don't want to rag but this fiasco (for me anyway but it seems to have hit others) is most frustrating. I'm not a noob and can generally work out problems but this has me vexed. I've done all recommendations and beyond. With the Saved Games overwrite I'm going to have to reinstall the back-ups and from prior experience will have to individually restore all of my HOTAS mappings (really not a huge deal, just time consuming).

The crux of the issue is that Windows is seeing Jester's dll as a virus. Windows is the Big Dog here. Say all you want but that is the case. You need to identify WHY Windows is seeing it as virus and do what's needed to eliminate that ID. Microsoft won't do diddly since you guys are a microbe as far as it's concerned. I did everything that I could to make Windows allow Jester through but I can't even find that dll on my system. I even looked on an older install of DCS on a different computer and there was no "HeatblurJester.dll" on it. Is this a new dll? Can you post it? Maybe a manual install would work?

Again, I really like your work but I am really frustrated at this point.

I spent 20 minutes looking for how to do this in windows 11. I used to know what was in Windows and where, but now everything has been "improved". "Windows knows better than you what to remove from your computer.")

You can find an explanation for what and why here:

I've just had this.  For me, my anti-virus (AVG) quarantined the file HeatblurJester.dll.

My solution has been:

  • Conduct a FULL repair on DCS.  That will on it's own not resolve the issue.  It will however have attempted to add the file to your PC, and should allow you to go find it
  • Open my AV, in my case, AVG.  I've no idea if all AVs work the same, but they're likely to be similar
  • Review the message relating to the inability to add the file into the DCS/Bin folder
  • In mine, it specifically mentions the file
  • Report this as a False Positive to your anti-virus vendor.  Eventually it'll stop being classified as a Trojan
  • In AVG, I chose the Restore option.  That moved the HeatblurJester.dll file from the AVG Quarantine folder into the folder that the DCS Updater had downloaded it to
  • Navigate to the folder  //DCS World Openbeta/_downloads/Mods/aircraft/F-4e/bin
  • For me, I was STILL unable to copy it to where it should go,  //DCS World Openbeta/Mods/aircraft/F-4e/bin, even after adding an exception
  • To resolve, I deactivated my AV, copied the file to the correct location, and then immediately re-enabled my AV
  • Open AVG again, and specifically add the FILE as an Exception in the folder location mentioned above

That seems to have worked.

I've attached a copy of the HeatblurJester.dll file such that you don't need to conduct the full repair.
