hamlet2k Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Why isn't the A10C HUD information projected over the actual HUD (glass) on the airplane? You have the ability to render the MFDs over the screens on the cockpit. You can even make transparent the background of the MFDs. I don't understand why you don't do the same with the A10C HUD.
SharpeXB Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Question: Have you ever seen a real HUD? Many cars have them these days so that’s not too hard to accomplish. Your post sounded as if you expect to see the HUD information on the glass itself rather than at infinity beyond it. I assume it looks like what you’d see in a car, I’ve never seen a real aircraft HUD. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
MAXsenna Posted January 8 Posted January 8 The real A10. I don't know why DCS doesn't project it like the real airplane. It would be easy. They don't? I'm not an expert, so I'm not following. How do they do it now, and how is it done in the real thing? Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

AJaromir Posted January 8 Posted January 8 HUD is collimated and projected at distance of around aircraft's nose. The reason for projecting at a distance is to avoid having to refocus the vision from near to far when aiming.

Was even discussed in another thread regarding reflections. While I don't understand what's wrong in the A-10s. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
