Flappie Posted February 21 Posted February 21 This looks like this issue (in SP, the screen show "Spawn Objetc", not in MP). Devs are working on a fix for this issue. 1 ---

MatzWarhog Posted February 22 Posted February 22 For what it's worth, I am still intermittently hanging up until I mouse click anywhere on the screen which then proceeds to a CTD. After restarting my DCS client (usually on the third try, which I'm sure is just a coincidence) then I will have zero issues until I close my DCS client and restart it. So the problem does still exist, and in the Windows Event Viewer, it is listed as an Error "Application Hang". It has occurred for me 96 times with the first occurence ever being on 12-18-2024. Just some random info if that's helpful. Glad you guys have stayed with this!! Flappie Posted February 28 Posted February 28 A fix was issued in ED internal version. So far, I can't reproduce the issue with this fix (while I keep having the issue from time to time in Release). This fix should be part of the next core update. 3 1 ---

That's pretty much what happens to me when in Multiplayer and trying to choose a slot ......however, after I have restarted the PC once sometimes twice, and everything magically works the way it should, I can turn off DCS and later when I launch DCS it will be good to go too, but not so if after the PC is turned off. Yes, this issue is random, which makes it hard to fix. I truly hope the incoming fix will fix this issue for everyone. 1 ---

gulredrel Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) For me neither, but there are no clues in the logs, so this is the culprit. As today's update was just a Campaign update, we need to wait a bit longer. Edited March 6 by gulredrel 1
MatzWarhog Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) I am not 100% sure if I have actually found and fixed the MP Freeze/CTD issue for everyone, however, I may have finally fixed mine. I have not yet been able to replicate the CTD that was being caused by a DCS "Application Hang" according to Windows Event Viewer (which has occurred over 130 times for me), and it was in the last place I would have ever dreamed of looking... the DCS connection to Discord. Since the "Application Hang" issue began for me on 12-18-24, I also started experiencing the inability to use Discord's PTT when DCS was the active window. That was less of an issue for me, so I pretty much ignored it, until last night. What I discovered is, that if DCS is set to "Run As Administrator", and Discord is not set to "Run As Administrator", a conflict between the two pieces of software occurs, which can cause the Discord PTT issue. After much searching to find the proper way to set Discord to "Run As Administrator", (and no, it is not a simple right-click, set to Run As Administrator) I was able to fix my PTT issue. That is also when I discovered that "OMG! DCS is no longer hanging up!" I have since preformed approx. 12 system restarts, and more than 25 DCS Client restarts, and I have yet to be able to freeze up DCS and cause a CTD. I "assume" that most here are actively running Discord simultaneously when they are in MP, as I always am, and coincidentally, the last Discord Update was on 12-19-24, it seems more than quite suspicious. If some others can try making sure that both their DCS Client and their Discord client are both "Running As Administrator", then we may find my issue is not just a 'one off' and is actually causing the CTD for others. I know this sounds more than bizarre, but it would totally explain the random nature of the issue. I will advise if I am able to replicate the CTD, but so far... I now cannot. Happy Hunting all! Flappie Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Please avoid running software as Administrator. It's a good way of running into trouble. 1 ---

MatzWarhog Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Actually... so far so good! My Discord PTT is even working without either being in "Run As Admin"! What a welcome change! I just wish I had figured out a workaround a few months ago instead of literally hours before an Update... but I'll take the win all the same! Blinde Posted March 20 Posted March 20 (edited) After the latest patch it does indeed loads the mission faster. However, there is still 5-15 second stuck in spawning objects. However, great improvement. Edited March 20 by Blinde 1
gulredrel Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I had only time for two instances of loading a mission after the patch, but both were successfully. I rather have stable loading with a bit of waiting time instead of this unstable behavior we had before. I had to alt + tab, klick, open and pray for a mission to load. Looks okay for me now. 1
