Playing in VR I have my system pretty dialed in, only issue I have is ghosting from wings, edges etc. I have been following some FS threads and someone talked about installing the new drivers being released next week and how it helped them so I tried in DCS.

I did not replace the framegen dll since I am in VR, I did install the driver and the nvidia inspector and set global to preset J

And boom, almost no ghosting with my setup using DLAA god like settings in VDS I am set at 90hz with quest 3 and have my FPS locked at 90 (45 per eye)

Also a question, my fps screen now says I am CPU bound 99% of the time, does that mean my GPU has some overhead and I can play with the settings suddenly?

what driver are you talking about? You say "Updating to the new Nvidia driver 571.96. Ghosting is gone!" !!!!!!!
571.96. is not out yet
how did you install it?

Those are early access/dev drivers I won't touch with a ten foot pole.

Glad it's working for you. I'll try once the version is properly released.

Yes these are the drivers included with the latest cuda. I don't know what the actual release version will be on the 30th but I am pretty excited to see what the new series of cards will bring judging from the positive posts thus far about DLSS 4

Not sure what do you mean by this... screen refresh is not per eye like resolution...
It's maybe set to 90 but it falls down to 45 ASW when it can't push 90, right? Or whatever it can push by GPU if ASW is not on or active...

It could be me not understanding, when I have the refresh set to 72 I get 36 FPS, at 90 I get 45 FPS so I assumed the 90 is the total of both eyes, but if you are right I am only getting 45 fps total? Sure seems smooth for 36 or 45.

What I am curious about now is why its 99% CPU bound

DLSS 4 with preset J is a massive improvement but not flawless. With the final driver release (hopefully on Thursday) I am hoping this will be better.

As Diego999 says I would prefer the official release.

After further review: I was overwhelmed by how much better the aircraft looked and did not notice the new ghosting on the mfd’s

so now it’s a wash as I like the crystal clear displays

DLSS now causes headset freeze and CTD when I try to load a mission. Not sure why. I am using 571.96 and preset J. I have tried a slow repair and deleting all the shaders but no difference. Anyone else having this issue?

I also got the CTD's on load screens when I updated to 571.96, another user had the same problem and said it was fixed by removing the DLSS tweaks files from the DCS bin folder.

Haven't tried it yet personally as I rolled back the drivers already, but iirc the CTD did point towards the DLSS files. dxgi or one of the others.

Thanks. I'll give it a go.

Hopefully there will be a DLSSTweaks update soon.

Still happened on the new nvidia drivers that just dropped, so I had to delete dxgi.dll and dlsstweaks.ini from the DCS exe folder, and then use profile inspector to enable the transformer model again globally.

You can still start the DLSSTweaks.exe after doing this to enable the HUD to check what version is running.

If you're set to 90hz you'll get 90 FPS with ASW disabled assuming your system is capable.  ASW is locking you down to 45 as your GPU can't maintain 90 FPS if set to Auto or you have it permanently enabled.

I updated the drivers and deleted DLSSTweaks files from DCS bin and still CTD. Profile inspector wouldn't run either. All very frustrating. Could you please share the exact sequence of what you did?

And now a new version of DLSStweaks has arrived that is compatible with J and K and doesn't crash. Things moving fast lol.

That was quick. I checked about 2 hours ago. Does this solve the CTD?

Yep CTD solved. I only had to delete the dxgi.dll and dlsstweaks.ini to resolve the CTD, but as long as you drag across the new dlsstweaks files you should be fine.

Profile inspector needs to be updated or it crashes as well.

I had some weird stuttering, and erratic movement in menus after todays update on nVidia drivers.
Restart did not help.
So I did this, and the problem was gone:

For me DCS does not go to 3D. With CUDA drivers 571.96 mission continues loading with black screen all time. I have returned to previous drivers version.

Hey Chicho. Same here...

I was using DLL_Swapper and nvidia inspector to get the latest DLSS files and preset J

I will try the fixes suggested by MoleUK

Y... Un saludo compi!!!!

Everything is working fine now. New Swapper versión works with lastest drivers. Preset K now set.

Un abrazo, compañero.

I swapped to the new DLSS4 and preset K, and I still get ghosting around the edges of aircraft in flight with DLAA.

So it definitely doesn't eliminate all ghosting.

Went back to MSAA.
