John5 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Video of bug. Summary: Aligning the HMD while AMRAAM is selected and L&S in TWS causes AMRAAM to no longer show LAR symbology. Sparrow and sidewinder are not affected. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select AMRAAM (AIM120B used here - unsure if applies to 120C) 2. Lock L&S target in TWS (unsure if this step necessary, or if bug reproduced in other radar modes) 3. Align HMD AMRAAM will no longer show LAR symbology in the HUD or B-scope. This cannot be undone by power cycling the radar, cycling weapons, cycling master mode or master arm. Cannot attach .track file due to file size but this was repeated multiple times on the PVP 90's contention server.

When then happens what symbology *does* it show, is it the VISUAL mode large segmented ring? Make sure you're not inadvertently hitting the CAGE/UNCAGE button a second time once it finishes the coarse/fine alignment. That or check that your button is not ghosting inputting. 1

Please add a track replay example (if you can reproduce in single player to keep the track smaller), and can I ask why you are trying to align HMD during an engagement? thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Foka Posted March 10 Posted March 10 As @Muchocracker said - you switched to VIS mode, what you can see on your video. Also HMD alignment is not needed in the air. Just do it during startup, and don't touch it. It's not supposed to be pinpoint accurate, as I said in other thread.
OUO Posted March 10 Posted March 10 CAGE/UNCAGE button This button switches the AIM 120 to VIS mode, even if your radar is locked on a target. You will use this button to calibrate the HMD. Solution: Press the CAGE/UNCAGE button again. 1

Yeaa I'm dumb just tested this again and I must've been ghosting the cage/uncage. Been flying the hornet since release and never thought to play with the cage/uncage AMRAAM behavior. 16 hours ago, BIGNEWY said: Please add a track replay example (if you can reproduce in single player to keep the track smaller), and can I ask why you are trying to align HMD during an engagement? thank you Thread can be closed. But to answer your question, because I forgot to do it on the ground when I first discovered this behavior and this was just recorded as a demonstration. Edited March 11 by John5
