shemi Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Hello friends I am highly intrigued by the new Logitech precision flight controller ! I'll be happy to share your opinions and expectations. Thank you (Logitech® Flight System G940) http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/pc_gaming/joysticks/devices/5855&cl=us,en# [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] =2ИАЕ=
zakobi Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 To be honest? That one looks nice... And Logitech tends to be of great quality...
Panzertard Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) IMHO - I generally like Logitech products, I own several. But the whole system looks "plastic" ... cheap. New generation? For logitech maybe I guess :) But for the market - which new generation or what is it supposed to improve? I assume it's supposed to compete with this? http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/x52pro.htm http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/rudder.htm Well, maybe if I were a first time buyer I would consider logitech - but now since I already have a x52 set I'd rather stick with that. Logitech do have two throttles - Saitek only one. I'd want two for greater flexibility. Still, if I were to consider buying a replacement set I would still buy a full x52 set. ... my two cents ... Kuky Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 That one is still very new HOTAS so there can't be many people that have it that can give good objective comments/review on it No longer active in DCS...

Well, it is a FFB joystick, so I would say it isn't aimed at Saitek's X-52, but rather at what Saitek supposedly has coming next... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=43031&page=2 (or perhaps more accurately, to fill a niche that hasn't been filled yet... an FFB HOTAS, which also happens to have a split throttle and includes rudders). It would be nice if someone came out with well made FFB rudder pedals. I suppose the manufacturers don't see enough of a market for that, though. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] There's no place like 127.0.0.1
Panzertard Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Cyb, you're right - I didnt notice the FFB feature. And I didnt notice that I dont have it on the x52 either - but then again I've not looked for FFB since Falcon 4. The mind is like a parachute. Zorrin Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I think split throttles will become more of a necessity as the fidelity of simulators increases. Certainly if we can expect engine wear to be a factor with DCS:Hog. You're not always going to want to run both engines at the same thrust levels if one is playing up after taking a few shards of Shilka love. And also dead handy for taxy manouevuring on the ground. Nothing like a bit of differential power to make life easier... But gotta say the $300 price tag is a bit steep for something that looks so cheaply made... Still that's purely speculation. Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
Boulund Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) I honestly think the 300 buck price tag is nothing! You get a very convincing looking (to me anyway, with my modest demands) piece of equipment with force feedback, and the price includes all three parts! (stick, throttle unit and pedals). A Saitek X52 Pro goes for ~$230 american and for only 70 bucks more you get a lot more than if you'd buy a X52 Pro and the Saitek pedals (which would cost you ~$365 USD here in sweden). And that's without force feedback mind you. The omniloved CH suite will run you at least $540 in Sweden, which of course does not have force feedback, but is made of metal... I really like what the Logitech unit is trying to sell, too bad I just got my X52 Pro... =D Edited July 24, 2009 by Boulund Core i5-760 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB DDR3, Geforce GTX470, Samsung SATA HDD, Dell UH2311H 1920x1080, Saitek X52 Pro., FreeTrack homemade cap w/ LifeCam VX-1000, Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1. joey45 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 W.T.H. is that on the throttle?? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
